We ordered the Full House and a plate with two sides. The tamales I tried were the Chicken Tinga and the Calabacitas vegetarian. Both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made.

,, I’ve traveled through many Latin American countries, and honestly, these tamales were better than anything I’ve had before

The service was great : everyone was super friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed, with chill music that made the place feel welcoming.

This is truly a Knoxville gem. If you love good food, you need to try it.

This is my happy place. Everything is made with fresh ingredients. Tamales are the absolute best. Their black beans and rice is phenomenal. Been following this guy since he used to sell in market Square. So happy for all his success. Every meal is always excellent. And their twist on banana pudding will leave you wanting more.

This is my absolute favorite place to eat! If you’re ever in Knoxville, you absolutely must try them! I love all their tamales, but the Chicken Curry and the Queso Poblano are my absolute favorites. Trust me, I’ve tried them all! They’re best served with a side of their famous collard greens, and they’ll also automatically come with a side of salsa! The food is absolutely incredible, and the staff is always so friendly and energetic!

I hate to admit that I am a tamale snob. My first boyfriends grandmother was from Mexico and she made, hands down, the best tamales ever. I find that I would always be disappointed, until today. Do yourself a favor and come here!! They are fantastic!!

I can’t wait to get back to GGT! I recently visited my brother in town and had the pleasure of coming here. Excellent service, great owner and amazing food!

Working from home here in Raleigh, I remembered my frozen Ting tamales because my mom called me to thank me for hers..Quick bath in boiling water.. then I felt like I was sitting back in the restaurant. Look forward to visiting again soon!

Every time my daughter goes to Knoxville, she comes back with frozen tamales from this place. Even when I prepared them from home, they were great, but I finally got to go to the actual restaurant and have their tamales, and OMG. What a difference! They were delicious and the best tamales I’ve ever had. They’re made fresh with little wait time. The salsa’s and all the sides are made in-house and pair perfectly. They ran out of the fermented cabbage and greens…those are on my list for next time. I highly recommend the poblano queso and the chicken tinga. The restaurant is located in Old City, which has the coolest vibe and other places I’m dying to visit.
I’m about an hour and a half from Knoxville, but I will happily make the drive again and again for these tamales. What a gem!

I pre-ordered Good Golly Tamale for our Día de Muertos celebration. Upon arrival I was greeted warmly by the staff. My tamales were served up hot and steamy, and they gave me directions for bringing them home and enjoying them like they were fresh from the steamer.

The atmosphere is super laid back, and dining in seems like a fun idea for the future. You can also take pre-packaged frozen tamales home for another day. No matter how you want your tamales, you can have them from Good Golly!

The service was awful here and the food was very bland. I ordered two different types of tamales which tasted nothing like it was advertised. The only thing giving them flavor was the salsa. I will say at least the food was fresh. But what really made my experience awful was the service. The lady that worked there with blonde hair was rude and argumentative with us when they had made a mistake and we had brought it up to their attention. Would not come here again or recommend it to anyone. There are better places that have better food with half of the cost of this place.

Sooo good. We’ve had plenty of tamales in our lives. These are moist, fresh and contain the perfect ratio of filling to masa. We tried the chicken tinga, the classic and the queso poblano. All were delicious

Hands down the best tamales I’ve ever had – that’s including a stint down in Texas in Austin. Have yet to have anything that comes close. When friends or family visit Knoxville, this is the first place I recommend. Get the Chicken Tinga paired with the Calabacitas and thank me later. Real Knoxville gem.
