Gooch’s was a great stop for dinner after a long day on the snowmobiles. The primerib wasn’t really as expected but regardless it was delicious, melted in your mouth! Also the pretzel was awesome, fed 5 ppl! Huge bar and dinning area, service was ok but it was busy on a Saturday night.

Northwoods atmosphere at Gooch’s. I had prime rib and it was delicious. I usually don’t eat it all and end up taking the remainder home…not here.. I ate the entire thing. Like a lot of the other negative reviews, if you seem like an out of towner or tourist, you’re probably in for a bad experience. My family walked in around 3:00 for some drinks while the kids played in the arcade area. I waited for a good 15 minutes at the bar only to be literally passed over by the bartender more than once. I put my money back in my wallet and went into Boulder Junction for the rest of the afternoon. Not sure if it was because I wasn’t wearing a snowmobile suit and didn’t belong to the “club” but there are plenty of other establishments in the area that will gladly take your money.

I went to Gooch’s hungry after a long day. It was fairly busy and the only open table had 6 seats. I was offered a seat at the bar, that was the best offer of the day.
The bartender was friendly and made a great suggestions. I got a cheeseburger with tater tots. It was great, juicy, cooked perfectly and at 1/3rd of a pound just enough.
Being on my own I figured I would end up watching whatever was on the screen on the wall. I ended up getting pulled into the fun the others nearby were having.
I’ll be back. It’s not just the people who work there, or the good food, or the drinks. It’s all that and the people who come there that make this a place you need to stop at.

Peggy Sue is amazing behind the bar. The place was packed and she hustled and kept us all entertained. Food was amazing. Broccoli cheese soup was so good along with the walleye fingers, Philly cheese steak and grilled ham and cheese. Highly recommend.

Whenever there is Hamms on tap, you KNOW you’ve hit “up north” utopia! Add to the mix: a gun raffle, broasted chicken and great tunes…we didn’t want to leave!! Best cheese curds in Vilas County! Fun joint, delicious bloodys and great service (Jillian).

Went on Sunday and had the 4 piece dark chicken for $19. Great chicken. It was nice they served the sides NOT in a small plastic container. Wonderful bar. Love going here.
