After taking over in May of 2022 our family has worked together to make The Goochland Restaurant an extension of our own kitchen table. We were traveling the interstate and did not want to stop at a chain restaurant. We prefer to support local businesses. We ended up in a acquaint little town and found this restaurant. Great diner. The breakfast was awesome. I had their goochland breakfast bowl. Definitely will get that the next time we’re through. Coffee was great. They give you samples of their homemade sourdough bread. Best sourdough bread I’ve ever had!. I had to bring a loaf home. I should have bought two. Great place. Recommend you stopping even though it’s off the beaten path because sometimes those are the best.

Went here for the first time today – very impressed! I had the corned beef hash with eggs, hash browns & a biscuit. Our excellent server asked if I wanted cheese on my eggs – why don’t more places do this??? What have I been doing with my life, nobody asking if I want cheese on my eggs.
Anyway the food was wonderful – best hash I’ve ever had, perfect mixture of crispiness and creaminess. The biscuit was amazing – perfectly grilled on all sides.
We picked up a loaf of their excellent homemade sourdough after another server offered us a sample.
Overall fantastic service and great food in a homey atmosphere (think sunlight streaming through gingham curtains). Maybe a little pricier than some other places but well worth it. We will definitely be back!

Since moving to Goochland county two years ago my wife and I frequently partake in eating here. The food is always very good with a wonderful variety of family breakfast or lunch favorites .. The staff goes above and beyond to make your visit a pleasure. We always look forward to being served by Madison. Knowing the building has been open since around 1950 and had only three owners in that span of time tells you how unique this restaurant is.

They say it is all in the details and the Goochland Restaurant has the details covered! What a lovely dining experience after going into the big city to shop. We are so glad to finally enjoy a visit to this well-reviewed Goochland treasure having moved to this beautiful community recently. From the friendly greeting upon entering to the cozy atmosphere to the well-appointed table with popular condiments, one truly feels welcome. Today we enjoyed the specials (light and very flavorable chicken salad on rye with crispy fries and a robust cheese and beef sub) and each was very satisfying and tasty. Prices are great for the quality and quantity. A nice feature that breakfast and lunch are served all day. Oh and we were offered a sample of their delicious cinnamon rolls-such a nice touch-and honestly, we felt like family! We cannot wait to go back for the French toast (brioche brought in from a bakery in France-be-still my heart!) and other tantalizing items on the extensive menu. Just another feature of the charming town of Goochland that made us so happy to have chosen to move here!

Large group for breakfast Sunday at 11. The waitstaff were friendly, the service quick and the food delicious. The biscuits and sourdough bread are especially good. I had the corned beef hash breakfast. Warm and cozy and clean. Very welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Goochland restaurant meets so many marks in regards to the food, service and atmosphere. You get exactly what one would expect from this charming and well-run restaurant. I have ordered from their on multiple occasions and also had the opportunity to dine in and have never been disappointed. I am fond of Cheeseburgers, and I have enjoyed theirs every time which shows a certain attention to detail and these days, a rare consistency.
