Usually get takeout but eat in occasionally. Often busy. Popular with the locals. Food is very good and they offer a wide selection of food. Italian. Service is very good. Prices are a tad high but in line with similar restaurants. They do charge for extra for very small amounts of taziki and pasta sauce to go. Excellent Cake desserts.

Food wasnt terrible, will give it another shot sometimes. Chicken was very dry and bland in calzone and in a pasta dish. Our server was great checked on us often.

The food is great, friendly staff. The only complaint is I order a gondolier baked spaghetti with no mushrooms or green peppers, well when you do it this way you don’t get as much meat sauce and you order is skimpy. But other than that it’s great. Prices are a little high tho.

This was the second Gondolier we have been to. The first was in Jefferson City. I had knee replacement yesterday and told my husband that I wanted to come here and have a Tiramisu.
I ordered a Chicken Teriyaki with lots of veggies and a Sweet Tea with lemon wedges. My husband had the Chicken and Spinach Calzone with a diet Pepsi.
He liked his diet Pepsi but it was not the greatest. His Calzone was good but not spectacular but good enough. The Chicken Teriyaki was good but not spectacular either. The Tiramisu was ok but bland. It had some taste and it was good but oh wow
The service was ok. The waitress was professional but did not talk much (not talk able but passable).

I got takeout so I won’t speak on service or atmosphere. The food was not good. This was the first and last time my wife and will eat at this restaurant. We got the Venetian pizza and it was so dry and flavorless it was almost inedible, not including dense and chewy. My wife got the pepperoni calzone and it was edible but nothing special, again so dense. The mozzarella sticks that I’m sure were frozen and reheated were the highlight of the meal and they were barely edible If I could give 0 stars I would.

The staff here was incredibly helpful and friendly. I got a chicken and spinach calzone. It wasn’t the tastiest I ever had but it was quite good. My wife had sit very chicken and vegetables and a piece of tiramisu. Pepsi products for the win!

We had lunch at Gondolier yesterday. I had the house calzone, and my aunt had the cheese pizza. We were leary of dining here because my other aunt had recently got food poisoned here. I’ve heard that there’s been new management in the last few years. The hostess was less than friendly, and the blonde waitress was very nice
The calzone could’ve used more cheese, but the main issue was the dirty fork, which I’ve added a photo . It didn’t used to be this way.

Go to Gondoliers! Went for the first time in years while visiting Knoxville. It has not changed, and that’s good. The food is awesome no matter what you get. I got the Zorba special. Also I can’t say enough about the cakes! If you go you MUST get cake. Any of the cakes. They are all incredible and each slice can feed at least 2 people. The wait staff is always super nice and attentive.

My family started eating at Gondolier when it first opened. It was beyond amazing but during the past few years it has dramatically gone down hill and now it is hitting rock bottom. First of all the smell! When you walk in it smells like old socks that haven’t been washed in a while. The smell of parmesan cheese and other foods is overwhelming. The place really needs a thorough cleaning and updating. The people at the cash register seem to think that customers are bothering them and the girls at the waitress stand act like you really are bothering them. You are met with a half hearted “Hello, How many?” You may get a smile and you may not. They really act like you are interrupting their girl chat sessions. The food…where to start. If you get what you ordered, you are doing well. If you get half of what you ordered and it is not burned, raw, or swimming in grease you are really doing well. The past three times I ordered a large salad there is barely enough lettuce to call it a salad. Sometimes the lettuce is brown, sad bitter tasting cucumbers, tomato wedges that sometimes are limp or just turning bad are used. There is about a tablespoon of bacon crumbles, a few croutons, but it is loaded to the max with cheeses and cold cut meats that actually hide the salad pieces. I had chicken parmesan. The chicken was definitely frozen and rubbery, the spaghetti was way over cooked or left in the water way too long and what little sauce was on the spaghetti was swimming in grease. The Calamari was so greasy I couldn’t eat it and actually soaked the grease up with a napkin. The last time I ate there, about a week ago, the waitress must have been having a bad evening. She was just short of being rude. After putting the plates on the table, she only came back once to check on us and didn’t offer drink refills or ask about the meal. She just laid the check down and walked on by. I can honestly say I will never be going back.
