We heard goog things about this place and decided to try for lunch. Everything was very good. Appetizers to start : we were given warm bread was dipping oil & seasoning. I ordered the onion rings. ( Loved em! They were nice and crunchy just like wanted.)
My wife ordered the Meat Lasagna. (It was very much to her liking & it was a sizable portion. Took half home )
I ordered the Meat Calzone. I ordered the small and it was the size of the dinner plate. Plenty of meat & cheeses filling. Could only finish half.)
The entire staff was very nice and accommodating.
We’ll absolutely go back.
Only suggestion: They ought to have Italian Wedding soup on the menu. Would’ve had that too!

We come to Mt Airy every for the Mayberry race. We like to find mom and pop shops. This place did not disappoint. From the time we walked in the door, the place felt inviting…..famiglia. Our server was amazing. The food portions were more than abundant and it was soooo good. It was definitely worth the price!!!
The only regret is that we’ve been to Mt Airy for the last 4 years and we just found this place. We will be back every time we’re here.

We were visiting Mayberry and seen the restaurant online and figured we would give it a shot … The food had good flavor and was large portions for the price .. the Alfredo I had them add mozzarella and it really added a lot of flavor with the Alfredo sauce which itself was good. The appetizer I got the cheese sticks which are made fresh in house using fresh mozzarella and then deep fried.. the breading had great flavor and cooked well , the mozzarella had a good cheese pull and was probably some of the best cheese sticks I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Only downside was it took a little while to get our food but there were several other people there and with everything being made to order that’s kinda expected. But keep it in mind when visiting that good food takes time to prepare. Highly recommend if you want good Italian food and good prices in the area.

Excellent Italian food in a cozy restaurant. I had Creamy Chicken Pasta. It was tasty and creamy. The serving was enough for 2 to 3 people.
The bread is light, airy and crispy all at once. It’s some of the best bread I’ve had in a long time.
Note that they do not serve alcohol, so no wine with your dinner.

Excellent service, amazing food and relaxed environment. My husband and I were traveling to Wilmington, NC and decided to stop in at Gondola Italian Restaurant. The hostess was very friendly, polite, and welcoming. Erika, our waitress, was very attentive, knowledgeable about the food options and had a very pleasant personality. The food exceeded our expectations. The bread was fresh and paired well with the seasoned dipping oil. My husband loves Italian food. He ordered the Chicken Parmesan (served with a side salad and a large side of spaghetti). He enjoyed the house dressing. He absolutely loved it. I ordered the Caribbean Salad With Chicken. All ingredients in the salad were very healthy and fresh. The Caribbean Salad With Chicken was so fresh and well put together that I did not even use the dressing. The marinated grilled chicken was excellent. The portions are over generous so be prepared and ask for a box. My husband also ordered the homemade cheesecake and it was delicious. See the attached photos of our entrees. The restaurant was very clean and the prices are beyond reasonable. Overall, our experience was five stars and exceeded both of our expectations. We will keep this hidden gem in mind while traveling in the future.

What a great surprise. We were visiting from out of town and my husband was hungry for spaghetti and used Google to find a place near us. What a great choice. Rachel, our waitress, was so attentive and very sweet. As we were traveling, we didn’t want leftovers, so we got the child’s size of spaghetti and meatballs and fettuccine Alfredo. It was still so much, but ahhhh so good. We got to meet the owner and he was very gracious. Too bad we don’t live closer, we’d be here every week!!

Alright, so – first and most important – enter through the side of the parking lot indicated in the map. The other entrance has a bit of a curb, that could result in car damage, not at the fault of the restaurant.
Second, I’ll get the bad news out of the way. One member of my party did get undercooked food – this was brought to the attention of the staff, and swiftly handled by replacing said dish. I could tell that our waitress was distressed as we were about it, so I know that such matters are taken seriously. Mistakes happen – sometimes mistakes that could be really problematic – and how you address them is what really matters.
Despite the one negative aspect of the experience, I still view this restaurant in very high regard. The costs are a little on the pricey side for what the dishes are ($15-25 per person), but I honestly believe they’re worth it. Everything I tried (bread and pesto, eggplant parmigiana, strawberry shortcake) was delicious. Which is really saying something! Eggplant is not easy to make right, pesto generally is quite flavorless, spaghetti served at restaurants is generally lackluster or disappointing. Also, the surprising twist on strawberry shortcake – the addition of cream cheese and lemon – works really well! And I don’t like cheese, including cream cheese, so the fact that it was something I wanted to eat was impressive!
The staff at the restaurant graciously allowed me to take pictures, which I did as much as possible because the decor is beautiful. The lighting level is romantic, the choice in art and decoration is very sophisticated, and the arrangement of the interior tables and ambience give the restaurant an intimate and romantic feel, so I think it would be a wonderful choice for a date. The patio room and private room spaces both are set up well for small family gatherings.

Food is great! I had the Medditeran pizza,my mom had the cheese pizza. Also came with a loaf of homemade bread and pesto, which was yummy. It’s an older restaurant but clean.

Our server Allie was excellent. She was very attentive and friendly. The portions are very generous. We split an entrie and still hade food left over. They were very accommodating on splitting the entrie since we were traveling and unable to take leftovers. They are also known for their home made desserts. The apple cake was excellent.
