Reviews
The teriyaki chicken over white rice is my personal go to, truly the best in the state. I used to drive an hour & a half up from Lexington to get my fill of it. Looking forward to maybe grabbing some tonight!
EDIT / ADDENDUM: I called the restaurant after writing this review and throwing the food out.
They had Lucy (?) call me back. She said she’d refund our money if we brought the food back.
We placed most of the uneaten food in the delivery bag, but some was literally hard to dig out of the garbage, so I took a photo of it. The male (owner?) was smug, offensive and quite argumentative, argued with us, said there was nothing left of the vegetables, and was going to pay us only $13 for the returned Pad Thai. He also denied any knowledge of the female who called us back. What happened to customer service and making this right? I was going to entirely remove this review, but after arguing with us for over 5 minutes, here it is….
My husband ordered dinner through Uber Eats tonight. Looked up the reviews here. several very complimentary, so we ordered…
Besides paying extra for priority delivery, it was late and cold and needed to be reheated.
THIS is a DINNER PORTION? These portions are skimpy even for a lunch portion. Even if the food was 5/5 (it wasn’t), I’m giving less stars because this is a rip off.
The chicken skewers were greasy considering they are supposed to be grilled. The mixed vegetables with garlic sauce, although a decent mix (broccoli, carrots, green peppers, water chestnuts and mushrooms), had NO hint of garlic
sauce whatsoever, or spiciness ( an option when ordering). Also, we could choose what we wanted with the vegetables: white rice, Lo mein, fried rice, etc. The white rice we chose was in the container with the veggies, not in a standard separate white takeout box, and occupying a good portion where the veggies should have been.
The pad Thai was bland, spice-less and very skimpy with the chicken. “Inedible” per my husband and I threw mine out. NEVER have I done that. What a waste of $40.00. ( NEVER have I called a restaurant like I did tonight; thank goodness I never had to).
Bottom line: CHOOSE SOMEWHERE ELSE:(
When I arrived to pick up the food, I was shocked to find that the total was $50 for just two meals, which included egg rolls and crab rangoons. That price felt way too high for what we got, but at that point, I was already there and just hoped the food would be worth it.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
Lo Mein: Extremely disappointing. The noodles were way overcooked, making them mushy, and the dish itself was completely bland—no seasoning, no flavor, just a pile of tasteless noodles.
Fried Rice: One of the few redeeming parts of the meal. It had good flavor and was cooked well.
Bourbon Chicken: Actually really good. It was flavorful, well-cooked, and had a nice balance of sweetness and smokiness. If anything, this was the highlight of the meal.
Crab Rangoons: Just okay. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t great either—about a 6/10. They lacked the rich, creamy filling that makes a great crab rangoon.
Egg Rolls: Nothing special. Definitely not worth the inflated price.
