Quaint, casual Mexican eatery located next to the DMV office in downtown Truckee. The rotisserie chicken was tasty, but the tri-tip was a bit bland without the hot sauce. Beware, the hot sauce has a serious kick to it! Fast and friendly service. Large free parking lot shared with other local businesses. Good place for a quick bite.

Golden Rotisserie absolutely blew us away! We came in as a hungry family of four and they did not let us down one bit. The whole chicken was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The sides were just as impressive, the rice was spot on and the potato salad was out of this world, probably one of the best we’ve ever had.
We also tried the tri tip, a sandwich, and the quesadilla de al pastor, and every single bite was delicious. You can tell they put real care into everything they make. On top of the amazing food, the people working there were super nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
If you’re in Truckee and craving hearty, flavorful food that hits the spot, you’ve got to stop by Golden Rotisserie. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we’ll come back.

Very delicious rotisserie chicken. It offers plate-by-plate dining, where you can choose your sides. The service was nice and friendly. I have eaten twice here and highly recommend it.

I had just eaten here, used the restroom, and was already leaving when an employee came up close to me and loudly said the restroom was “only for customers,” in a very aggressive tone. I was a customer. It was embarrassing and rude. The burrito already had a burnt taste, but the way I was treated was even worse.

I don’t understand the good reviews. It’s quick and cheap, but the food is not even good.
My wife got two tacos, meat and tortillas were decent, but that’s all there was to the taco. No onion, no salsa, no cheese… I mean these aren’t even street tacos.
I was excited to try the chile relleno stuffed burrito… but it was pretty bad. Maybe the normal burrito would have been better, though I kinda doubt it. The chile relleno itself was okay, but it was the burrito outside some sad rice, beans and maybe I got pork, but didn’t see much of it.
Anyways, not worth returning. Too many good restaurants in Truckee.

Food is pretty darn good. Chile relleno burrito is great. Staff seem put out, especially anytime within 30-45 minutes close to closing. Expect chairs on tables and feeling rushed out.

Decent food for a good price. Got some tacos and a burrito. The tacos were a bit too simple and the chicken was sorta rubbery. The burrito was good, but still really simple. They have awesome salsa which really makes up for all of the above.
