Simply the best Chinese restaurant in Michigan and maybe North America.
The plum sauce and hot mustard are to die for. When you dine in, they give you wonton chips. So good! I love to dip them in plum sauce. You can’t go wrong with either wonton soup or egg drop soup. I love the egg drop—it’s thick and silky. Their egg rolls are a must try, too, specifically the filling and wrap make them stand out. Crispy, tender, flavorful!
My favorite is the Szechuan Beef. It’s elite and stands out over any other I’ve had. The sauce is tasty and the right thickness. I also like the Cashew Chicken. They’re generous with the cashews, and again, the sauce is just right. The meats are high quality, too.
Not only is the food stellar, but the service is, as well. It’s clear this is a family operation and they truly care about your experience. I’ve found they remember a lot of guests! Which is so kind. It’s like stepping in to a warm hug when I walk in, even after being out of the area for a few years. I think the fish even remembered me.
11/10 would recommend! My pictures don’t do the food justice. This is a Flint area must eat.

We’ve driven by this place for 20+ years & finally tried it. We were kindly greeted & seated right away. They brought out fresh fried wontons & took our order. Food came out quickly. First up the soup, we chose wonton, it was delicious. Next, the egg rolls, hot & fresh! Very good. Then our entrées that came covered with the traditional metal covers. So much food! We definitely had enough for 3 meals each afterwards, unless you have an extremely large appetite. We did feel that the $3 uncharge for fried rice was a bit steep. It rounded out to roughly $20 per person for us but again, you are getting tons of food. We also got a bag of almond cookies on the way out, those were pretty yummy, too! We’d definitely drop in again when we’re in the area.

This was a great little gem we found to have lunch. The food was amazing, the serving sizes were huge. Plus the food is very authentic which I loved! The staff was friendly and our drinks were never empty. If ever in that area stop in.

It was good but not great. Sweet and sour pork was kinda over cooked and dry. The shrimp fried rice was good. We did carry out.
Update; Our last order was simply fantastic. My #16 (sweet n sour pork) was done to perfection. Her Shrimp fried rice was excellent. As you can tell we’re long term customers and will remain that way.

I’m a native of Flint my entire life, 50+ years. This was my 1st time at Golden Moon and I can’t believe I never went before. This is an absolute hidden Gem! The food superb! The customer service was so impressive. They were absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend Golden Moon!!

They’re getting ready to celebrate 40 years serving delicious food. I usually come here for lunch and order the sizzling rice soup for two but this is my first time ordering something different. I got to have a late lunch with my mom.
We decided on the Combo for Two which includes entrees of Steak Pow and Almond Chicken. I asked to substitute the almond for the Cashew Chicken as that’s what I was craving. So much was included for a mere $30 including hot tea, 2 soups (Wonton is tasty) and 2 egg rolls. The Cashew Chicken was fresh with nicely cooked chicken chunks and plenty of cashews. I have to say that I really enjoyed the Steak Pow. I’d never even heard of it but so glad we were introduced today. Served alongside the entrees was a separate dish of chicken fried rice. Sooo good and the chicken wasn’t dried out. I can’t say how many times the chicken in the chicken fried rice has been dry and old tasting from other establishments.
Service is always consistently courteous and the inside is cozy especially if you sit in one of the booths. I’ll be back and possibly try something different but may just get a craving for the Steak Kow.

I frequently go here for lunch and always have a good experience. Good food, at great prices and the staff is very friendly. *Update* the young man who recently took my phone order and processed my payment when I arrived, was a doll. I didn’t catch his name, but thank you for your hospitality. Thank you Golden Moon for the delicious food and nice staff! The hot mustard is so spicy, I love it!
