Established Chinese restaurant with a large menu of dim sum & dumplings, plus a Sunday brunch.

Tried this place for the first time yesterday (Christmas) and woweeeee it was FIRE, delicious, yummy all the things. We tried the following dishes:
1. Tangerine Chicken
2. Beef Chow Mein
3. Walnut Shrimp
For two people it was more than enough food and everything was SO GOOD. The tangerine chicken was crunchy, chewy, and sweet/sourish. The beef chow mein was salty and hot but not spicy, and the walnut shrimp was fried to perfection.
The service was a bit slow but it was Xmas so everyone and their mom decided to pop in (us included) without a reservation. It’s to be expected. Wait staff was kind!

Good quantity for the price of the food. You can get two dishes like fried rice and a side and easily split between 2 people. Good atmosphere, moderately good service but friendly staff. Food taste and quality is a bit underwhelming, fried rice was quite oily. All in all good restaurant.

We visited LA’s Chinatown with high expectations for authentic cuisine, particularly the dim sum and vibrant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the experience was a letdown. The food quality, especially the dim sum, was notably below par, making the excellent dim sum restaurants in Convoy, San Diego, feel practically luxurious in comparison. The service was ok.

5 stars baby…. you come here for the food, period. This isn’t a sexy date spot or a vibe restaurant. It’s an old-school Chinatown staple, and that’s exactly why it works. The dumplings and dim sum are off the chain; authentic, comforting, and deeply satisfying. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and everything tastes like it’s been done the same (right) way for years. If you want your stomach happy and don’t care about the flash, Golden Dragon delivers.

Everything here was pretty cheap in terms of their dim sum! Items are priced from A, B, C and D. It’s a better deal when you go on a weekday because items from A-C are only $4.80 and D items are $7.50. On weekends or holidays, A items are $4.80; B items are $5.50; C items are $6.50; and D items are $7.50.
We ordered 10 A items, 1 D item and a drink which only came out to $59.95 before tips! We were so shocked at how cheap it was as dim sum can normally go up to $100 for 2 people (at least with the amount we usually order lol).
Now for the flavor, everything was average. My favorite items were their dim sum and the steamed tofu skin rolls. If I want something inexpensive though and a quick dim sum meal, I’d totally come back to here. The staff were also super kind and it felt homey in an unfamiliar city~

Golden Dragon is my #1 go-to Chinese restaurant.
I’ve visited more than 10 times over the past two years, and every single time, the food has been consistently excellent. The flavors are always impressive, and the portions are very generous for the price.
All the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and pleasant.
My personal favorite dishes are the Siu Mai, Sweet and Sour Pork, and Shrimp Fried Rice. Adding chili oil to the fried rice really takes it to the next level.
They also serve oolong tea throughout the meal, which I found really helpful for digestion.
I hope everyone gets to enjoy these dishes, and I truly wish Golden Dragon continued success in the future.

Every once in a while, my Grandparents and I would come to the Golden Dragon for lunch, and this establishment never fails to exceed my expectations. The food is well made, and is quite satisfying. The service is fast and reliable, even if sometimes they may not completely understand English (which is understandable). The atmosphere is quiet, calm, and rather welcoming. Every time I come here, I do so with great enthusiasm. If you ever want good food in Chinatown, this is a place I’d recommend.
