Well I when I made my last post about Golden Corral coming back, I was wrong. This GC is definitely not on my favorites list. We ate here last night. It was not very crowded for 6 pm. it was at about 40% capacity. For the most part, the food looked as if it had been sitting on the line for hours. Meat loaf was dry and turned dark. Even the ketchup was dry. Lima beans were dry and turning color. The Candied yams the same. The soups, for the most part, were practically empty, and the vegetable soup was dry and stuck to the pot. The baked fish was stuck to the pan. I could go on, but you get the idea. The fried items were really the only items that looked fresh. Our waitress was great and the place was clean. They served slices of pie in a small serving bowl instead of a small plate. They would not even fit in the bowl. They had a mangled piece of carrot cake on the cake plate that was there when we arrived and left. Apparently, they were not going to put up a fresh cake until some customer scooped up that mess and took it to their table. It was really a disappointing meal.

The food was amazing! The gentleman on the grill “your grilled pork chops was the best I ever had plus super tender”, good job employees very hard-working, & shout out to ” Karen” are waitress. She was absolutely wonderful.

I don’t know if it was the time we arrived which was 6pm,but the bar was OUT of everything!! The manager was helping and calling out food they had ran out of. Never at the shelby’s restaurant have we had these issues… Maybe next time will be better experience.

Most of the food is good and fresh. The only thing I’ve found that could be looked after more is the soups. You kind of have to watch the time you go because, they do get pretty busy at times. If you make an early dinner you should be good.

For our waitress she was very nice and sweet and did a great job while keeping our table cleaned and drinks filled. They do need help because they were very short handed.

The food was great until I saw 3 huge roaches crawling around the buffet area, and workers trying to cover the roaches up with rags!! We took my grandmother here for her 86TH birthday (her choice) she hasn’t eaten since we took her to eat Saturday!!! I know things happen, but we weren’t offered anything, just a, “THANKYOU for telling us, we’re sorry you had to see that”

The ribs here are pretty good. The check in was slow because of new employees. Our waitress was great she kept area clean and cups full.

I gave this restaurant a second chance because the DM sent me complementary meals. I was not disappointed this time. Our service was excellent. It was much busier this morning than our other time. The food was better although it was going fast and they were working to refill. So I am changing to a 3 star because of their much hard work on correcting issues.
