Casual chain eatery serving a lengthy menu of Chinese classics, from lo mein to General Tso’s.

The food was Amazing and so many options, the Beef with Orange Peel, Yu Hsiang Shrimp and Salt & Pepper Lamb were all delicious, all meals are served with soup and Egg Drop soup which was yummy. We also had the Crab Rangoon and Shrimp Dumplings which were great. The Plum wine was a good addition too. Highly recommend this restaurant and service was superb.

We came for dinner as a family of five after seeing a promising picture of crab rangoons online. Service was superb, our waiter was very friendly and on top of refills and clearing the table as we ate. We ordered chicken with orange peel, Mongolian beef, and noodles with beef and all three were very tasty, big portions, and flavorful. The restaurant is a bit dated, but it was quiet and nice enough. The menus were clean, something so many restaurants overlook it seems. We will be back! Ps – the crab rangoons were fantastic!

Stopped in while in town, and was not disappointed. It’s not a buffet, but the food is very tasty with tons of options and generous portions for the price. It was rather quick when I was there and wait times for orders were minimal. Staff doesn’t linger around but is happy to help

I hate to write neg reviews but I don’t want anyone else to have this much regret. If you’ve never eaten Chinese food in the Northeast and if your Caucasian, then you’ll probably think this place is awesome. It’s NOT! Aside from almost $50 worth of food cause I needed food to last a couple of days, to not even add hot sauce in the bag was disappointing. But that’s nothing. I’m actually feeling kinda sick. Don’t know how old their oil is but something is lingering in my throat and bubbling inside. I specifically asked for no shrimp in the house fried rice and yet the food tastes like it was lathered in seafood oil. I found a place that I love and for some dumb reason I decided to try this place because it has better reviews than the place that I really like, but now I see some people just have horrible taste buds in Waterloo. You know how spending money doesn’t hurt when the food is good??? Well, this one really hurts. Both in the wallet and inside. Feel like this is gonna be coming back out the same way it went in. I won’t even mention the place I like so that nobody will think I’m lying about this place to advertise for the other.

Very disappointed today. We usually love Golden China but today we didn’t. We ordered p/u @ 11:45.. We live 4 minutes away. Food was sitting there when we got there. By the time we got our food home it was Luke warm. Rice wasn’t steamed OR fried?? was just like a brown rice?? Not white steamed or fried w/egg or veges…We’d never seen anything like it before. The triple delight? Asked for spicy… nothing and the shrimp had tails on which isn’t the way it’s ever been. My husband was not happy to have to dig his fingers in his food to remove the tails!! I asked for my homestyle beef to be “extra spicy” , there was NO spice @ all!! Sesame chicken was good, however, I paid $75…yes $75 for what we feel was just a sub par meal. Sadly we will not be visiting again anytime soon!!

Our favorite go to Chinese! We’ve been coming here for over 20 years. Best crab rangoons that we can’t leave without and a very extensive menu. Great friendly staff!

It’s not as good as I remember it. The rice was room temperature and I ordered a spicy dish and it wasn’t spicy at all. The pop was not very fizzy. The service was good and it was nice having a few TVs to watch which is something you don’t normally see in a Chinese restaurant. It was clean and in a decent location.

Went for lunch. It’s always too dark. Turn on the lights! They have hot tea which is really nice. I ordered the Yu Hsiang pork and crab rangoon. The crab rangoon filling is nice, but not nearly enough, and the wrapper was overcooked and hard. The corners were difficult to chew. It would be nice if the wrapper was thicker like the Hong Kong’s wrapper. The hot and sour soup was weak. It was too corn-starchy, but they offer crunchies, which really improves the soup experience. I was served a tempura chicken strip with a spring roll. The spring roll was less than mid. The chicken strip didn’t taste like anything. The Yu Hsiang pork was not good. There was far far too much sauce. There was a small amount of pork. It was overcooked or old. It had carrot, celery, onion, and mushrooms. It may have had a few water chestnuts. The sauce was overwhelming. The portion of rice was small, but I got another after a few requests. The server kept my water full.

I have been visiting Golden China ever since I was a kid and it was at the old location (now Freddy’s). It is where my dad proposed to my mom, where I’ve spent countless birthdays, and the place that I go to for comfort food now. The business has retained the same staff members for a long time and it is always nice to see their familiar faces each time I come in. The food is what really puts this restaurant above each of its counterparts in the cedar valley though. The egg drop soup is rich and perfect. The spring rolls, crab rangoons, and potstickers all are fabulous; if you’re feeling fancy, the dinner for two provides even more appetizers to try! As for the entrees I love the lo mein, the empress chicken, the Szechuan green beans, and especially the Mongolian beef! I love coming here with family and friends, but I especially love coming in with a nice book alone during their lunch hours.
