I want to start by saying that I love Golden Chick. I Especially love the rolls. I used to live in the DFW are where they were readily available, but moved away to an area that doesn’t have any. Since I’m visiting Abilene, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to eat at a Golden Chick. I ordered online for pick up. My Tender Bundle box included 18 tenders, 4 side, and 8 rolls for an amazing price. When I arrived to my RV, I was disappointed to find they had only given me half the rolls. It seems that to compensate for it, they gave me fried ocra that I had not ordered. Although I appreciate the sentiment, it was not what I was expecting. The food was delicious, and only give it 4 stars for my missing rolls. I wouldn’t have bothered leaving a review, but my husband said that about a week ago, they also botched his order, also not giving him the rolls. I still recommend the food, although id recommend to be cautious that your order is complete before leaving the restaurant.

Went on Tuesday evening December 23rd around 6 or 7 pm. Was in the drive thru when a female employee comes out the back door and was seen smoking Marijuana at her vehicle. She was in a light grayish 4 door nissan. The smell of Marijuana was strong! She then walks back in and comes out with 2 huge bags of food from the establishment and gets in car and leaves.Our family will not be going back to that establishment ever again. Too many young immature workers with attitudes and what seemed like the woman management does nothing about the rudeness. I will be calling the health department with photos and video of what our family witnessed.

We stopped at this Golden Chick while passing through Abilene. We were really regretting our decision to stop here after tasting our food. The fried chicken was very bland. It tasted like it was just fried in flour with no seasoning. The mashed potatoes had zero seasoning on them as well. They didn’t have any fries, and wouldn’t sell any additional rolls. For the amount of money the food cost, the quality sucks! We should’ve have gotten Raising Canes like our boys.

Would give negative stars if possible. Put mine and my wife’s health at risk with RAW chicken. Two different orders of boneless wings completely RAW. All management could say is “idk why it happened. We just press the timer button and it is suppose to cook it”. Then they had the nerve to ask us why we ate raw chicken. Absolutely terrible management.

Normally when I go here everything is on point but to my complete surprise when I get home and open my container I see feathers and some other things still on the chicken as if it wasn’t plucked fully and completely ruined my kids and I appetite for the day.

Pretty good, I can recommend this place for sure. The flavor was good on everything but the Mac’n Cheese tasted like some generic dairy cheese powder.
I AM however impressed with the bread. It’s akin to Raising Canes toast but as a roll. I was not upset about eating it and it was a better option compared to the dry and sticky biscuits you get at other fried chicken franchises.
The tenders are small but you can get higher counts at the equivalent price of other chicken establishments. I also got a sense of it feeling like it was home made due to while I was eating them I could actually tell what part of the chicken I was eating. The tenders really did feel like something you’d prepare at home. That’s saying a lot.
Continuing the popular trend that many texas places like to do to me. I was given gravy instead of the dipping sauce I requested. Luckily I caught it this time but I will say the gravy was slightly better than Church’s. Also their “Lotta Zing” sauce; while being a ridiculous name, was very tasty. I would say the “Lotta Zing Sauce” would give Raising Canes a run for their money.
Service was fast and almost perfect if it wasn’t them forgetting to give me the sauce I ordered.
