I visited Golden Chick Rowlett Lakeview, 9103 Lakeview Parkway, around lunchtime and had a very disappointing experience.
The food was greasy, overcooked, and clearly had been sitting under a heat lamp. The roll was hard as a rock, the fries were limp and oily, and the overall presentation was disgusting. I ordered chicken tenders for a kids meal and a six-piece wing combo, and the food looked so bad it nearly made me sick. I ate a few bites of the chicken and fries and immediately felt queasy.
When I went back to address the issue, one employee rudely said, “Just give me everything and I’ll give you your money back.” I explained that I only wanted fresh fries and a fresh roll, not a full refund. He shut the window and got the manager.
The manager did refund the full amount, but the situation didn’t improve. When I asked if I was still receiving the fresh fries and rolls, he said yes and handed them to me in a separate bag. After I said thank you, he slammed the window shut, which was extremely disrespectful and unnecessary all that food I dispose in the trash. ️
Between the poor food quality, unprofessional service, and lack of basic courtesy, I will never return to this location.
If you decide to visit this Golden Chick, check your food carefully before leaving. Make sure it isn’t overcooked, greasy, or poorly presented. This location seriously needs improvement in both kitchen standards and customer service.

We tried this place one evening for dinner, we were greeted as soon as we entered. Ezekiel was very helpful and friendly. We ordered the 4 piece tenders with a side of Mac and Cheese and a 4 piece spicy tender with a side of Dirty Rice. Once our food was ready Ezekiel brought it to our table. The Tenders were freshly cooked and cooked to perfection. The spicy tenders just have a Cajun type seasoning sprinkled on top of Tenders. Being from Louisiana I did not find this spicy at all. The Tenders are delicious and will return. We found the Restaurant clean as well as the restrooms.

I’ve visited this particular Golden Chic dozens of times because of the location and convenience. Unfortunately over the last few months quality and service has plummeted. Today I ordered a 3 peice strip meal. Not only was the order incorrect but the sides and gravy was piping hot, I couldn’t consume for several minutes. The chicken was dry and tasted like it sat for hours, same for the rolls. Very disappointed in the downturn of this location. It may be time ti take my business elsewhere.

My family eats at this location every Saturday morning for lunch. The staff is incredible, the food is always so fresh, and the price is unbeatable. Simply perfect! Each and every Saturday we have a great experience and we have the amazing staff to thank for it! Mayra, Kim, and Kris do an amazing job each and every week. It is a wonderful tradition we have started with our family, and we are so grateful to have found these wonderful folks.

My 2nd bad review. 1st review I was not given any plastic ware with a takeout order. Today in 2026 I returned. I specifically told Ezekiel that I wanted gravy, he said it comes WITH the meal like he was doing me a favor, and I asked for honey mustard, he said he’d give me some. I get home and there is NO gravy OR honey mustard and the gravy comes with it? Spoke to him on the phone, mind you he IS the manager and said he forgot to put it in. He apologized but omg he’s young and shouldn’t forget. This was our dinner!! I will not return

We ordered mashed potatoes and gravy as the sauce, with additional zing sauce. We were given gravy and mashed potatoes literally mixed together into a liquid consistency in one cup this time. Super out of the ordinary. No side of gravy and no extra zing sauce either. Buns were hard as a rock. Not sure what happened bc this location used to rock.
Food always comes out great at this location, probably the best in the metroplex. Fresh and the folks are nice and little to no wait time.
I will say, make sure you ask for zing!
Edit: thank you for switching back to the paper boxes! Environmentally conscious is a big plus!

They lack the understanding when giving mashed potatoes, that I might need a spoon to go with it. You get charged an additional 4 dollars for fries (that they don’t give you). Ask seasoning packets and you won’t get those either. The one in wylie has no issue whatsoever,never returning to the Rowlett location

We had a surprisingly good lunch there recently. She had the 3 shrimp meal and I had the fish and shrimp meal. The food was hot the fries and okra were great. Even the rolls were tasty. I don’t know if all the Golden Chicks are as good, but this location was great. We’ll be back.

We had the pleasure of Chris taking our order. Chris was professional, patient, attentive, and provided an overall amazing customer experience, even as we kept customizing and adding things to our order. Food was prepared quickly and was so fresh and tasty. The ice cream machine worked so my daughter got to enjoy a complimentary desert. This is one of the best golden chick locations in the area, especially with Chris being customer facing. Give this man a raise!
