We are a cafe serving Red Barn Coffee Roaster’s hot and iced coffee products, including espresso. We serve hot/iced chai, hot chocolate, hot tea, seasonal cold foam drinks, and Lotus Rush Energy Drinks. Here at Golden Bean, we serve a menu of nutritional shakes and smoothies as well! Additionally, we have a selection of large cookies, scones, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, and other baked goods. We offer grab and go food options including salads and wraps as well as breakfast sandwiches in the morning. We are a proud sponsor of University of Maine Athletics. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. They bake all their bagels, bread, and pastry here, and everything is fresh. We enjoyed talking with the friendly staff who greeted us with the warmest smiles. We actually stayed another day just so we could have an excuse to have another breakfast bagel sandwich.

It’s a cute little bakery. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I was a little disappointed in the limited options for backed goods. We got a muffin and bar. Portions were large but the flavor and quality was good but not great. Seating is limited and not geared toward larger groups.

Cafe was fine if you just need somewhere to grab food on a road trip. Mocha was basically bland, breakfast sandwich was fine but nothing special, thought the interior was uninteresting but not really my thing to theme a cafe on UMaine hockey. Great food! Friendly and courteous staff! Entry and lobby can be crowded at peak times with a diverse tango and occasional pas de deux in the offing between clientele entering or leaving.
Limited seating for a relaxed nibble and chin-wag is available. There is plenty of parking in rear of building with a wheelchair accessible entry.

Second visit as a to go customer. Staff was so very kind, knowledgeable and ready to provide stellar customer service. For the second time, I wanted to purchase what they call bars as pasty items for two parties. The cost of each bar was so very reasonable because they are huge. So large that I requested to have them cut into 4 and 6 pieces each. The special request was granted and the food was a hit. I will always consider Golden Bean Bakery first for parties. They currently close at 2 pm on the days I have been there, so I promise its worth making the time early in the day to get there!
