Social Profile:

Custer’s Gold Pan Saloon is the oldest saloon in the Black Hills of South Dakota! Established in 1876, the saloon is one of the longest-running establishments in Custer. We offer a full menu and a full liquor bar, including wine, beer, seltzer, and cider, so come on by. We’re proud of our history but like to keep things fresh. So, stop in and check out the oldest bar in the Black Hills, with a modern twist.

We had a sirloin steak and cocktails and they were awesome. Coldest beer in Custer and the steak was cooked to perfection by Tristan and Lexi’s service was top notch.

Denaye was literally the best bartender we’ve ever had! Coming all the way from Indiana, she gave us drink suggestions and brought the hometown feel from a far away (for us) world! Super thankful we had a little date night tonight with the best service and super cute Custer atmosphere!

Had dinner and played bingo on Tuesday. Very fun and everyone very friendly. Food was good but baked potato was cold. Ribs were great. Great drinks and friendly staff. Was one of a couple of places open late October. Had a blast.

Spending money at Juke Box and we finally started to the bartender we aren’t hearing our music (it should be stated the juke box is right behind the bar stools) she says, “you need to tell me because I didn’t know”. We responded, “we are standing right here at the juke box”. Her response was “keep it up!” Like she is going to throw us out for stating the obvious. She chewed us out stating she was busy. There were only 9 people at the bar including us. At the end of the night I tipped her $20 but told her she deserved $1.00 for her attitude. Her response was, “well the way you came after me!” Seriously pointing out the obvious was “coming after her” I completed my sentence with. You should have found your sense of humor and said “oh yeah and turned it into a joke. Worst bartender ever because in truth she wasn’t one. Wrong personality type.
I work and make 167,000 per year in customer service. I would have fired her if she worked for me, insecure and wrong personality type. We will never go back to this location again and we are locals.

I love this saloon! Vince (head chef) puts out amazing food (check out that pork chop photo) and also amazing chicken wings… best by far in town.

The bartenders are all fabulous and treat you like family. Shout out to Ms. Maddy and Ms. Hannah as they see me the most often

Tuesday nights is BINGO… see you there!

Loud, but it was a bar with dining room and there was a football game on and loud music, that’s to be expected. Menu wasn’t updated online, so didn’t get what we came for. Ordered a steak sandwich in lieu of a cheese steak sandwich, didn’t hit the spot and didn’t like the rosemary bread it was on. Should have a separate waitress for dinning room customers as when they got busy at the bar, you had to wait for service. Not a bad place to dine, server was nice enough, just understaffed.

In town to see Mount Rushmore. Loved this place. Exactly what you would want in a small town bar, but way far better bar service than expected. My cosmo’s could have been made in NYC, they were that good. Oldest saloon in Black Hills.

My wife and I ordered a hamburger with mash potatoes and a salad with loaded baked potato. 45 minutes later the burger showed up over cooked and two baked potato’s with butter and a couple pieces of bacon. The server never asked my wife for another drink after an hour.

The first place in Custer, SD that we would not go back. The server only stopped by when the food was delivered.
