I recently did take out and it did not disappoint! Ordering over the phone went very smoothly, the person helping me was able to answer my questions, was very enthusiastic about the menu, even giving some suggestions at my inquiring. I was informed that they are a very sought out sushi house…So here we go, this is my review!! -The kani salad was crisp and had the perfect crunch the cucumbers were very fresh, then they add some sort of crunch on the top. Their Gyoza is a pork-chicken blend that was not too heavy with flavoring or pork. They were perfectly golden & crisp. The shrimp shumai was steamed perfectly! I was informed that they make their own soy sauce, which was very delicious indeed… And lastly was the scorpion roll!! I believe it had a lobster salad inside of it. Topped with tempura and avocado then drizzled with a citrus chipotle sauce that was out of this world. The roll definitely satisfied all the senses … this was my first time eating here and I can not wait to go back. I’m already recommending it to friends and family!

They have the best sushi in CT. We went for Valentine’s Day dinner and it did not disappoint. On busy holidays you can also make a reservation by calling the restaurant. We got the omakase platter for 2 which comes with assorted sashimi and nigiri’s. They also let you select one special roll and one chef roll so we got “The Raw” roll and the tuna special roll. The platter also allows for you to choose between miso soup or salad. And for appetizer we got a blackened seared tuna. The service was also good despite it being quite busy. I highly recommend this place!

Small restaurant. Fresh, delicious, flavorful sushi! I didn’t even use soy sauce! The people that were working were friendly and happy. Good, quick service. Can’t wait to try more next time!

You will not find sushi better than this. I was blown away. The flavor is out of this world. There’s not a lot of rice in the rolls so every piece just melts in your mouth. You don’t need eel sauce or spicy mayo because the flavor is perfect as is. This is a GEM

Gohan Sushi is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but what really set this place apart was the incredible service. Our waitress was not only kind but also extremely knowledgeable about the sushi and the quality of the fish. She explained how the restaurant sources different fish from various regions depending on the time of year—right now, their tuna comes from Mexico because the water is too cold elsewhere, while other selections are flown in overnight from Japan, where the water temperature enhances the sweetness and overall quality of the fish.
The attention to detail and commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients were beyond impressive. Every bite was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the experience felt like something you’d expect at a high-end sushi bar—except at a fraction of the price. Honestly, I would have gladly paid way more for what we had. You truly can’t beat the value for the quality you’re getting here.

Extremely delicious! Everything was very fresh and flavorful, generous portions; a perfect healthy lunch. If we lived closer I’d go here all the time. The staff were all kind and friendly. Honestly some of the best sushi me or my partner has ever eaten, and he worked in sushi restaurants all over California. I was surprised at how good it was, thinking maybe the modern interior and strip mall location would mean lower quality but no way, we were really impressed!
