Japanese-inspired decor sets the mood for izakaya-style small plates perfect for sharing with sake.

This place is always crowded, especially during the weekend. We came early during the week night and there was no wait!
Service is great. They have plenty of waiters/waitresses working. Once we ordered, the food came out fast.
Out of all the dishes we ordered, the Hamachi Carpaccio, Asari Sakamushi, Yaki Onigiri, Unagi Pizza and the Grilled Duck Breasts dishes are delicious and stand out.
The fried oysters is so-so since the crust is too thick and not light enough. The sea bass special isn’t as good as other places as they pan-fried the outside first rather than directly grilling it. The coating is so much that we couldn’t taste the fish. IMHO, Tanto’s fried oysters and fish (black cod) dishes are better.
They have an extensive menu and will come back to try other dishes.

We had lunch in here, their lunch special menu price is okay, three of us all order different chirashi, sashimi rice bowl, I feel surprised the number of Sashimi is too little inside the bowl, however, the quality of sashimi are fine. Waiter is nice. Service is good.

This location has the same or similar menu with the one in Mountain View. However, it seems that they may use the same recipes but some differences in way of cooking. We like them both ways. We started with a garlic green salad, and it’s such a tasty salad! The dressing is so flavorful and the crispy garlic chip gives such a good kick to it. We ordered a today special of toro sashimi and it just melted in your mouth. We also had a pan saute black cod and that is also amazing! For the dessert, both lava cake and the green tea creme brule were worth the calories.

Charming restaurant in Cupertino, serving classic Japanese tapas, as well as some innovative new-world Californian cuisine. The sashimi quality was excellent, and the grilled meat items were perfectly seasoned. Interior is nicely decorated and there are a couple of private rooms with tatami mats. Friendly and efficient service. Medium-sized free parking lot.

The food is great and comes out fast! The seating is mostly floor seating with leg space and no back support so that could be uncomfortable for some people. Our service was okay – I felt like they were annoyed at my group (of mostly older seniors) and so we’re taking a long time to get to us. Sorry! The good food was the black miso cod, the salmon claypot (medium is not that big…), The miso pizza was awesome, and the beef tongue and hamachi carpaccio were good. The pork belly was great but the pork ribs were okay.
Overall yum! Might not come here for a while since the hostess annoyed me (yes I acknowledge my group was mostly grumpy old people….)

My partner and I were really missing Japan, so we chose to eat at gochi for dinner. This restaurant is one of the most “Japan” vibes place I know, so excitedly we arrived. Even at 7:00 on a Wednesday night the whole restaurant was filled so I am glad we had a reservation. We ended up getting Salmon Aburi, Mentai Kinoko Pizza and Unagi Meshi. All of these items were delicious and definitely more than enough for the two of us. Service was a bit slow, but it was a pretty chaotic night and the food was delicious.

Visited this popular Japanese restaurant on a friend’s recommendation. The interior settings have an authentic Japanese feel with guests sitting on the floor and being served on low height tables. For food, we ordered items from appetizers all the way to desserts and the taste of some of the dishes are indeed top notch. Big kudos to the dry fish and cod roe clay pot although the price for a clay pot dish is a bit on the high side. My next best recommendations are the dessert items in which the sweet potato ice cream dessert is my new favorite. In general, the cost of the main dinner items are a bit pricey for me but as mentioned, it is a popular restaurant for people of all age groups.

An elevated dining experience with thoughtful execution throughout. The pizza was a standout—perfectly balanced with exceptional texture and flavor. We also ordered the oysters, hamachi, unagi claypot rice, and beef tenderloin, all of which were beautifully prepared and deeply satisfying. The only miss was the broiled amberjack, which lacked the same refined taste and quality as the other dishes.
Service was polished and attentive without being intrusive, and the hot sake complemented the meal wonderfully. While it leans toward the expensive side, the ingredient quality and overall experience justify the price. A strong choice for a night out.

Everything is good but pricey. We ordered salt water eel, healthier but hard to be compared with other restaurants.
