We tried coming from the resort across the street to check this one out too, and we enjoyed the scenery along the way! There is a more casual section where you can eat while listening to live music, which we decided on because we weren’t hungry. The server super nice and attentive. The special meatballs weren’t the best, but the salmon really melted in my mouth!

After several wonderful experiences at Glitretind for their summer Sunday brunch, we were eager to celebrate Christmas Eve here. Unfortunately, the evening did not live up to the high standards we’ve come to expect from this establishment, especially given the $250 per person fixed price.
While the food was good, it wasn’t exceptional enough to carry the experience on its own. The primary issue was the service, which felt frantic and unpolished for a luxury holiday dinner:
Lack of Attention: Our server, Mohammad, was kind initially, but once our order was placed, he virtually disappeared. We had to flag him down just to get water refills for the entire table.
Intrusive Service: His assistant, Katie, appeared overwhelmed. At one point, she reached directly over me while I was mid-toast to my family to clear extra wine glasses—a jarring interruption for a celebratory meal.
Missed Opportunities: No one ever checked in to see if we wanted additional wine or cocktails throughout the night.
The most disappointing detail, however, was seeing a $2 charge for every blue cheese olive in my dirty martini. Having dined at top-tier hotels and restaurants globally, I have never encountered an upcharge for a standard martini garnish.
When I brought these concerns to the manager—who only arrived after the bill was signed—he offered to remove the olive charge, stating he “didn’t want it to ruin our Christmas Eve.” This completely missed the point; it wasn’t about a few dollars, but the lack of hospitality and attention to detail expected at this price point.
We still love the Glitretind Sunday Brunch, but we will not be returning for another holiday dinner. #SteinEriksenLodge #DeerValleyDining

Spectacular Deer Valley mountain scenery, live music, and delicious Glitretind food all paired with craft beers – what’s not to love! Attended Summer Tuesday’s Hops on the Hill. It’s set outside on their deck. Different food tasting stations are set around their deck, and the tastings are paired with different beers. Runs from 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesdays during the summer. Cost is about $90 pp which includes five 1/2 cup beer tastings. You can pay less if you don’t want the beer. Call for reservations.

There are two different restaurant options adjacent to each other at the Stein Eriksen lodge – Glitretind and Troll Hallen, and we went to Troll Hallen. The appetizer was good, but I was appalled at how little food was served for the main course, especially for how pricey it was. I was given a small piece of salmon, a bit of rice, and one and a half green beans. I’m leaving this review for both the management of the restaurant, and to guests as a heads up. Otherwise, the Stein Eriksen lodge has a warm, earthy, and family-friendly ambiance; there was an incredible musician playing live music, and there’s plenty of room to hang out and eat

Mohammed and Caesar were the best. They took great care of us and made sure everything was delicious! Thanks for a great night.

Despite all the other reviews, my wife and I had nothing to complain about. The food was really good (she specially loved the mushroom sandwich), we had a very nice view in the terrace, and the staff took really good care of us.
They have a lot of options regarding beer, wine and cocktails (also mocktails and beer without alcohol).

My husband and I stopped in for a couple cocktails at the Troll Hallen. This is such a beautiful lodge and the service was top notch.

My family and I booked lunch for 1:30 pm at the Glitretind Restaurant and were extremely disappointed with the experience. There was a clear lack of leadership within the management team, which resulted in a queue of at least 20 people waiting to be seated despite less than half of the restaurant being full. We were told to sit on a couch and were only taken to our table around 10 minutes later, highlighting the staff’s inability to efficiently seat guests and turn tables. Once seated, the service was unacceptable, with our waitress showing no urgency and misleading us by claiming she was “caught up with our order,” despite us clearly witnessing her put through another table’s order. Thankfully, a second waitress stepped in and provided outstanding service, being both efficient and genuinely lovely. However, we still waited almost an hour for two burgers and two pies, despite checking on the order multiple times. While the pies were excellent and served hot, the burgers arrived stone cold and were very mediocre. I understand the restaurant was likely busier than usual due to other mountain venues being closed, but this only further highlighted the need for stronger leadership, better communication of wait times, and clearer guidance on menu options such as the buffet being readily avaliable. If a reservation is made, customers should not have to wait 10 minutes to be seated, wait an hour for food without communication, and then receive a cold meal.

The lodge sits at the base of the mountains (Bald Mountain, Bald Eagle Mountain) and the terrace/balcony of the restaurant has incredible views of the mountains and surrounding area. We were there in July, and the greenery/chairlifts, and blue sky made for a beautiful view during dinner. The service was great, pacing was very good, and the menu had a good variety of meat-forward dishes. Their Utah Elk Carpaccio and Coriander Pacific Halibut were excellent. You do have to walk through parts of the grounds and parts of the hotel to arrive at the restaurant, which made for a cool experience as well as they have some amazing art and furnishings inside the hotel lobby and hallways.

One of my all time favorite spots for lunch in Deer Valley Utah! The food quality is amazing as well as their service. I loved the shrimp and crab claws. The prime rib was yummy too.
