We visited Glamour African Kitchen after my daughter saw egusi online and was curious to try it. Wanting to explore something new together, we decided to stop in and experience West African food for the first time.

We ordered the egusi with fufu, peanut butter soup, and a vegetable soup. The flavors were extremely unique, unlike anything we’ve ever had before. It’s hard to even describe them, which I think speaks to how different this cuisine is from what we’re used to.

The staff deserves special mention, the young cashier was very kind, patient, and welcoming, and she took time to help us.

That said, since this was our first experience with West African food, it’s difficult for us to fairly rate the food itself. While we respect the tradition and authenticity behind the dishes, the flavors and aromas were not to our personal taste at all. It was definitely outside our comfort zone.

Overall, this was a unique cultural experience, and I’m glad we tried something new. Even though the food wasn’t for us, the hospitality and opportunity to explore a different cuisine made the visit worthwhile. If you enjoy bold, traditional West African flavors, this may be a place you’ll really appreciate.

I enjoyed the combo rice (jollof and fried) with the big piece of chicken and stew. Suya meat was amazing! So tender and seasoned really well. Meat pie was ok. Moi moi was also good. Customer service was exceptional, felt like I was a welcomed guest in their home! I will need to stop in again when they have snail in stock.

Disappointed because ALL of my meat is HARD.

Cons:
1. Okra Soup – taste is there, but could use more flavor. Beef HARD.
2. Cassava Soup – Flavor is good – cow skin is soft – cassava just a little too liquidy for my perspective. Beef HARD.
3. Beef Stew or chunks? – This was probably the best out of all. Taste and red pasta soup was delicious. Beef HARD.
4. Meat pies – disgusting and dough taste like nothing. Meat DRY.
5. Fufu – not fully mashed – upon eating I found some hard and dry chunks.

I wanted 3 other dishes, BUT they did not have.
1. Gizdodo
2. Fried stick Gizzard
3. Goat Meat

PRO’s:
* Speed for food was quick
* Cashier was nice.
* Place is very clean.
* Advertisement photos of food 100%
* Price is fair.

The best African food I’ve ever had. This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered from them and they never fail me! It’s savory and delicious! If you’re a first timer, I recommend this restaurant!

Watch out when,ordering food they give people messed up food. They are not willing to correct there mistakes properly without the customer having issues with them .

Yelling, screaming,loud voice against customers and disrespectful,rude attitude is unacceptable at anycost.

The customers labor day and night for the restaurant to have roof over their head and shield-and just the honor greet them properly with honor treat them right is very difficult for Glamour Kitchen.

I hope they understand that tomorrow is different day, what happens tomorrow is God’s willingness

The customers that you are mistreated are they ones that can help you in emergency or uncertain situations and stand up

They will turn back against them God forbid.

Guy tries charging me 60 bucks for two large Egusi. I’ve never paid that much for Egusi. I went right down the street for much cheaper…30 bucks can’t beat that. I will never come here again

GREAT experience, and such good food! Everyone there was so kind — both the employees and the patrons — and we felt welcome and appreciated. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend the beans and plantains, if you like spicy food; otherwise, the jollof rice with beef was very tasty! Definitely stop in if you’re in the area!

I have been wanting to try African food for a long time but did not know where to go until today. I was brought to this establishment and I ate some of the most amazing food. The customer service was so friendly, and patient with me. They made sure it was prepared perfectly as this was my first time. It did not disappoint at all. The atmosphere was God centered with worship music playing and being able to eat, laugh and listen and watch live tv worship services in Africa was the highlight. Thank you so much I will be back.
