This was my first visit to this restaurant. I ordered 3 chicken tenders and a small order of okra. The woman at the counter was personable and helpful. It took about 10 minutes for my order to be ready, (I was the only person in the restaurant) not the 20 minutes she quoted me and I was glad the order was ready so quickly. The tenders and okra were hot and fresh. Even though I ordered a small okra, it was a good sized portion . I got to my car and realized I had not asked for a dpping sauce for my tenders. I went back inside and told the woman at the counter that I needed a dipping sauce. She said she would give me one but their is usually a charge. I asked how much, and she advised me they are ,50¢. As I went back to my car, I thought that was kind of expensive for a dipping sauce since many will include sauces with the meal. When I went to put the sauce in the bag, I realized she had already included one with my order! “Duh” on my part! The flavor of the chicken was fine, a little on the bland side, but the dipping sauces and the lemon pepper seasoning on the batter helped. The okra was typical okra, battered, and also with lemon pepper seasoning. My total was not quite $10, again, typical for these types of “Mom and Pop” establishments. Oh, and the sauces were just so-so. The honey mustard had a “powdery” residue in its after taste, like maybe a powdered seasoning was added to the honey and did not dissolve all the way. The sauce that was included with my order (which I didn’t realize had been added) wasn’t too bad, kind of a Frank’s Hot Sauce mixed with another sauce that I couldn’t discern. I’ll try some of their other items when I’m back in the area.
