This was a nice surprise. Ate here in October with my wife before seeing a movie at the Bexley Theatre and just decided to have dinner here before our movie. Little did I know that we were about to awaken a new tradition. Now we want to come here before every movie.

Atmosphere:
Small, cozy, and quaint. Dim, warm lighting, and a decent amount of space between the tables. Perfect for a romantic date night. Or in our case, a pre-movie dinner.

Service:
Top tier; server asked about dietary restrictions first thing and was very attentive and personable.

Food & Drink:
To drink we went with a Old Fashioned and a Cosmo. Both were classic, and perfectly delicious. Waitress also went through the different spirit options for the Old Fashioned which is always a plus for me.

I went with the Cacio e Pepe and my wife went with the Braised Short Rib. Pasta was a classically done 3 ingredient Cacio e Pepe with the spaghetti slightly el dente with crushed black pepper and a romano cheese sauce that had the perfect consistency. I loved the added twist of it being served in a parmesan bowl.

Short Rib came with gnocci and a mushroom glaze sauce. The beef was nicely tender, mushrooms, soft and salty, and the gnocci tasted fresh and added a good texture. I thought the glaze sauce was a little too salty/savory and it distracted from the beef; but other than that it was very delicious.

We finished with the Ricotta & Pistachio Cake. Each layer was moist, spongy, and packed with pistachio flavor in every bite. I also could not get enough of the ricotta cream that came with it.

Price:
Pasta and drink prices are great. I thought the price on the short rib was slightly high, but it also comes with mushrooms and gnocci so you are sort of getting an entre’ combined with a pasta so its not too wild. Portion sizes are also good, don’t worry about leaving hungry.

Overall very impressed and can’t wait to go back before seeing another movie.

Maybe we caught them on a bad night, but we had a thoroughly underwhelming experience with Giuseppe’s. I had a friend visiting Columbus, and he loves Italian food, so I thought I’d treat him with a local favorite.

We did take-out with three entrees — veal piccata, branzino, and spaghetti and meatballs. I ordered the fish and tried my wife’s spaghetti. The food was pretty bland (especially the spaghetti), and the servings seemed underwhelming for the price, particularly since they don’t include any sides. (I think we spent like $100 or so, before gratuity, for the entrees.) I guess the rolls were tasty?

Full disclosure, I cannot speak to the atmosphere that night, as I did take-out. They had live music which made it really hard to hear the hostess when placing a call. To her benefit though, she was really polite and friendly though, both on the phone and when I picked up the food.

Anyway, after dinner I was a little embarrassed. My wife lightly joked that The Olive Garden might have been a better option. There was some truth to it.

I have celiac and the bartender was extra aware before we were seated that I am gluten free. The food was amazing let alone the communication between the bar and the table we were sat at was incredible.

I would highly recommend coming and enjoying a meal here.

I went to Giuseppe’s for the first time last night after friends recommended it so strongly. I was not disappointed. We sat outside which was a ice area, there was the occasional horn honk or traffic noise but generally it wasn’t noticeable which was great because it’s situated on a busy street.

We got the bruschetta which was fresh and well flavored, we split the Caesar salad. This salad dressing was a bit non traditional- I think it even had some gin in it, but it was well dressed and tasty. Good croutons too. My partner got the spaghetti with clams and I got the spaghetti with shrimp and a cream sauce, both were good. My favorite was the chocolate cake for dessert. The cake wasn’t overly sweet and the frosting was especially good and the cake was incredibly moist.

The service was great, I also liked how the food was delivered by kitchen staff. They employ a lot of kids that seem pretty young but they do a really good job.

Delicious Italian food with a touch of Italy. I have visited Italy (2016) and the name of this Italian restaurant and the interior decor, felt like I was back in Italy. Nice small menu with some impactful platters. I had their lasagna and it was good, a Cesar salad, and a few adult beverages. They had live music when (a Tuesday)I came to dine here. Free parking garage near by. Limited free street parking. No time limit to park after a certain time of the day. Nice and friendly staff (thank you, Liz). Decent prices.

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! I’m in love with every single detail in this place. Beautiful Italian patio, excellent interior design, cozy and romantic bar, delicious authentic food and wines! Music is always perfectly matched. My favorite is live jazz band playing every Monday. Personnel there is always professional and hospitable, hostess, bartenders and servers. I could have breakfast, lunch and dinner at Giuseppe’s for the rest of my life. Thank you so much. Highly recommended.

The Lasagna was almost $30 and it literally was awful; tasted like chef boyardee. Don’t waste your money! The Tortiglioni was ok and the one virgin drink was awful. The desserts were the best part; the cannolis were amazing and the tiramisu was okay.

Giuseppe sat down at our table and chatted for almost an hour. We laughed at his jokes and he told us two secret ingredients from his marinara recipe. Later we discovered that wasn’t Giuseppe.
