My family and I love this place. The food is always delicious, and they have great Happy Hour deals from 3-6. (I’ve actually never come for dinner, we sit at the bar and drink and eat but it’s perfect) My favorite thus far is the pizza with the hot honey. The pastas and salads up front never miss. The coffee here is the best in downtown if you as me! Only i’ve had here that was just meh was the pistachio cheesecake, which really wasn’t cheesecake it was more like pistachio mousse.

Anyway come here for the Happy Hours highly recommend!

Very popular busy Italian restaurant downtown SLO. Long wait (reservations for hroups 8+). Scored a seat the bar and had a meal there. Service was excellent. The bartender who took care of us was great. Local young man who had worked his way up in the last 3 years and attends Questa pt. Very smooth operation considering how busy it was. Had a soup ( huge portion) clam chowder that was excellent. It was hard to make a choice for our entire as we watched meals going to the tables. Salads look great, so do all the dishes. Really good fresh food. Highly recommend and will be back! Very reasonable prices. Also, special treat, we met the owner who went to SLO 30 years ago and got into this business as his final project (there is another location in Pismo). His don also works there.

This is one of my new favorite spots. The atmosphere was lovely. We sat on the back patio and it had a complete Italian vibe. The bruschetta was very delicious. The glaze topped it off perfectly. My ravioli was good. I won’t say great because the edges were hard. As if they were dried out. The sauce was very good. The creme brulee was delicious. My friend had a panini and he was in love with it. The bread, olive oil and garlic was incredibly good!

You should definitely try this place.

Been here before (we’re local), still the best easily accessible Italian restaurant in Central Coast. The owner is a Cal Poly Alma mater and Joe’s original “Senior Project” start up just gets better with age. Wonderful easy environment, we always choose either the outside enclosed patio area or inside high top bar area. Food is exceptional yet accessible without fuss: start with lamb lollipops or deep fried zucchini blossoms (out of season now but worth a trip to central coast in late spring just for these). Authentic pasta dishes, great Caesar salad w/anchovies. Great attentive service. They don’t take reservations so seek out off peak hours if you can as it gets very busy. We came a day before New Year’s Eve to avoid the rush tomorrow (all day long). Eating at the bar is cool and a great social immersion. Joe (Owner) might just plop down next to you working up his next local food source. Can’t say enough, 20 years since we been customers and second SLO location. Keep up the great work. Best of success in 2026. Rich, Poly Alumn ‘79

We had the most amazing experience at Giuseppe’s Cucina Rustica while celebrating my wife’s birthday with our kids. The ambiance was incredible—the beautiful indoor/outdoor space made the evening feel so special, and the food was absolute perfection from start to finish, right down to dessert.

As visitors from out of town, we were struck by how pleasant and kind everyone was. A special shout-out to our server, Chris, who went above and beyond with thoughtful attention to both our kids. He made the evening even more memorable.

We’re so happy we discovered Giuseppe’s for our celebration and can’t wait to return to re-create such a wonderful memory. Truly a gem in San Luis Obispo!

Giuseppe’s is FANTASTIC! Our server was awesome, the food was wonderful, and the atmosphere is fun. What more could you want. We both enjoyed our lunch – the burrata stuffed ravioli and the Giuseppe tortellini were both out of this world. Go eat! You’ll thank me later.

Love this place! I visited for the first time on my birthday, and it was absolutely delicious. I love Italian food, and when I was in town, a friend recommended this spot — needless to say, I’ll definitely be visiting again! Not only was the food amazing, but the staff was also incredibly kind and happy to explain anything we had questions about. Our waiter was so friendly, and the service was a 10/10. I even received a birthday gelato, which was so incredibly delicious! Great food, great prices, and an even better experience. I can’t wait to go back!

This place is a hidden gem south of Paso Robles. Their drinks and food are amazing. They are usually a full house so try and make a reservation. If your looking for a true Italian experience come here. Lots of wine and cocktails to choose from. Anything on the menu is beyond expectations.

Visited Giuseppe’s Cucina Rustica with five colleagues and ordered several pasta dishes and pizzas. While edible, the food was bland and disappointing overall. The pasta lacked flavor and the pizza crust was soggy. All five of us felt the same. Unlikely to return.

This was my first time here, and we came because my cousin—who lives nearby for school—has been raving about it. We decided to visit while in town, and I’m so glad we did! We were greeted right when we walked in, and even though it was busy, we were seated in less than 10 minutes. The servers were incredibly attentive and the service was top-notch throughout our visit.

I really appreciated that they offer gluten-free options for both pizza and pasta, which is a huge plus for me. We started with a few appetizers. While I couldn’t try the calamari since it was breaded and I can’t have gluten, we also ordered the meatballs on the side—and those were absolutely delicious!

For the main course, we shared a gluten-free Margherita pizza at the table, and it was fantastic. I ordered the gluten-free carbonara pasta for myself, but unfortunately, I wouldn’t get it again. The sauce was way too thick, and it reminded me more of mac and cheese than a traditional carbonara. There wasn’t much bacon, so it felt like an overpriced dish that didn’t quite hit the mark.

Aside from that, everything else was wonderful. The ambiance is perfect for a date night, birthday dinner, or any celebration. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and has a romantic, cozy vibe. Overall, a great experience—with just one dish that missed the mark.
