We had a frustrating experience with Giovanni’s in Proctorville. Ordered online, delivery took about an hour, which is already long for a local pizza place. We tipped well, no issue there.
When the order showed up, they were missing an entire sub. The receipt stapled to the bag clearly showed two subs, so the order was placed correctly. One of our family members was left without dinner.
They did remake the sub after we called, but we ended up going to pick it up ourselves because we didn’t trust another long delivery wait. Overall the experience felt slow and sloppy. In our experience, this has been the worst Giovanni’s location we’ve tried in southern Ohio.

So I do not like to have to post this but I feel that I’ve been made to be a joke to the owner of Giovanni’s.. And this is why-
A few weeks ago after ordering a simple hot ham and cheese sub from here that I paid nearly 10$ for then drove the 5 minutes home. This sub had lettuce that was turning brown and yellow and was absolutely disgusting, let alone the two pieces of ham. To say the least I was not happy with the sub I paid 10$ for. After talking to the owner after a week, I was told he would send a gift card for my next order. After about two weeks I get the certificate that is for not even half of what I paid for a sub.. 4.00$ is what I was sent, and again my sub was 10.00$ far as I’m concerned that will be the absolute last time I’m going to give them my money. Just thought I’d share how good the customer service I received was.

The worst pizza I have ever had from Giovanni’s. Where do I start . The pizza had very little toppings, it was Luke warm. The staff was five high school age kids goofing off instead of taking care of their customers. I would not recommend this location.

My order was completely wrong and forgot part of it. I live 30 minutes away so I have my girlfriend stop by on her way home from work only to get attitude from the girl working. I call to make a complaint and was informed a manager wasn’t available so my name and number was wrote down. I was then called back by another employee informing me that they could send me a gift certificate for my troubles. I give my name and address and he puts me on hold. Then another employee (Noah) got on the phone and said “Sorry but we don’t guarantee those things and there’s nothing we can do.” I then comment on the attitude received from the other employee and was told she was trying to “appease” my girlfriend. I never make complaints but this was just not how you run a business and treat your customers.

I love giovannis! Unfortunately every time I place an order (which is quite often) it is always messed up. I’d write about every experience but there’d be too many google probably wouldn’t even let me. I’m an understanding person and easy going on fast food workers. But every time? At this point it’s poor service and laziness. The past few times I’ve ordered an Italian sub they’ve forgot the sub sauce that comes with it (or the sub didn’t have any lettuce onion or tomatoes?). Even when I specify I want the sauce they STILL forget it. I went tonight for the same thing and they forgot the sauce for the fourth time. We went back to get it…. And they tried to charge us for the sauce… and didn’t even know what sauce we were talking about. At this point it may be a management problem along with the poor service of kids. I hate that I have so many issues, it’s so close and convenient along with being a good food chain but too many issues to enjoy.

We called in our order and I specified exactly what I wanted on my sandwich and also made it clear that I wanted nothing else but what I had told the one taking my order & even repeated what I wanted & didn’t want on it and he didn’t bother to repeat the order back to me and make sure he had gotten it correctly before he told me how long it would take to fix it and then hung up without getting a name or phone number either then when we got the order and left after we got down the road, I opened my sandwich and didn’t think to check it before I took a bite and it is a good thing I don’t have any food allergies because they didn’t listen to anything I told them I didn’t want on it and had put everything on it that I said I didn’t want & did want except the green peppers. I called and complained about the mistake and they did fix me a new one correctly and it was right but considering that I was halfway home and had to go all the way back & even though I took my time to give them the time to get it done before I went back to get it, it was still not ready yet and it took a while before it finally did get done and most places would have not only fixed a new one and not taken forever to do so but would have refunded the money for it or offer one for free on my next visit especially considering that I had to drive all the way back then also wait forever for it to get done when I had taken more than enough time to have it done before I got back to get it. And it’s the only Giovanni’s I have ever been to that doesn’t have any A1 or steak sauce of any kind. Normally I don’t have any issues with Giovanni’s so I didn’t rate it as low as I would have otherwise

This restaurant seems essentially a carryout, but has a few tables on which to eat and was clean.
We got an extra large pizza with pepperoni, cheese, onions, sausage, and peppers. By looking at the pizza, you’d think they’d ran out of supplies. There was hardly any pepperoni and it took a minute to find the sausage which turned out to be tiny specks mixed in and hardly visible and could hardly taste it at all.
Overall taste was good, but seriously lacking in the amount of each items on it which was very disappointing to me.
Another customer came in, ordered and had to leave for a minute and I thought it was strange that the attendant left the fellows change sitting on the counter without either of them being there for at least 5 minutes until I said something.
This visit will be my last visit there.
