If you’re looking for upscale this isn’t it. It’s a nice place, dated but nice. The service is great with a smile. The food … is not what I expected. The calamari is chewy but I appreciate it being seasoned. I had the veal parm over spaghetti. The sauce tasted like it was out of the local grocery store bottle. The veal was decent with melted mozzarella. Obviously the veal was put in the salamander to melt the cheese, placed on top of unseasoned pasta with sauce. My first clue should’ve been, not having Italian dressing for salad. Basically the food has no love. I’m just passing through town. But I wouldn’t come back.

It took me 3 years after moving to Texas ti find real pizza. After trying different pizzas all over the United States, including Connecticut, California, New York City, NY, Yonkers, NY, etc, to find fresh, delicious pizza with my new wife was delightful surprise. Top compliments to the chef and to the staff for bringing a great experience to East Texas. Thank you all.

Food: I had the Chicken Masala, the chicken was rubbery , the sauce was way too salty and the texture of the sauce was horrible, I have done better at home, no exaggeration, this was horrible, when I ine put I epect food prepared by someone much better at it than i, that is the point……even the mushrooms were limp;. Wife had the shrimp alfredo , it was not as bad but not good. Result: after having eaten nothing else from nowhere else but this meal at Gioannis…we both came down puking and sick. Out waitress was very attentive and pleasant, but anything from the kitchen was horrible. CAN NOT RECOMMEND with a clear conscience. NOTE: We are locals who just had not tried the place, so are not clueless as to what is normal on the local food scene

We went to get appetizers for a snack and were not disappointed. The mozzarella were hand battered and amazing, the quesadilla with marinara dipping sauce was packed full and almost like eating a pizza. The salad was the best salad I have ever eaten. Service was good, we came when it was a little slow though. Would highly recommend it.

my first time here and i loved it we had a snapper almondine, mashed potatoes , veggies and Eggplant Parmesan Pasta. And tiramisu for dessert. Everything was amazing, and well seasoned. Staff are very friendly. Definitely coming back,

We had dinner here around 6:00 on 6/18. We were warmly welcomed and immediately seated. Shortly after sitting down, we were brought warm bread with an oil and herb mixture that was scrumptious. Our crab stuffed mushrooms appetizer came out bubbling hot with tantalizing aromas filling the air. They were delicious and the sauce they were in was paramount. Then our salads arrived with fresh vegetables, and a tomato vinaigrette that will exceed your expectations. Then it was entree time! I got the flounder special, and my coworker got the salmon special. My fish was delicately prepared and the olive and caper filled sauce that accompanied it was delightful. The steamed veggies and mashed potatoes also paired nicely. Overall, we enjoyed a delicious meal and had a good time!

Crispy but airy crust. Plenty of cheese. Sauce has a fresh tomatoey taste. Sausage has a pleasant pork flavor. They had live Italian music when I came here on a Sunday afternoon. Service was quick and attentive even though they were busy. I really enjoyed my meal here.

Unfortunately, it was extremely hot in the restaurant during our visit on friday evening. It was clear that the waiter was feeling unwell because of the heat it was literally written all over their faces. They did their best to remain professional and hide it but it was obvious they were struggling. One of the servers even fainted in the dining area while serving a table. She was helped by another waitress and a guest, while the manager and others appeared not to pay attention. I sincerely hope management addresses the temperature issue, as it directly impacts both staff well-being and the overall guest experience
