Giorgio’s Pizza: Where crust meets destiny

Was in Indy for a business trip and had a few hours to orbit the city circle. That’s when my nose led me to Giorgio’s Pizza—like a bloodhound trained on mozzarella. I smelled it before I saw it. Pizzaaa!

This place is a delicious little gem tucked into downtown like it’s hiding from calorie counters. Pizza by the slice? Yes please. I grabbed a meat lovers slice, some breadsticks, and an ice cold beer—aka the holy trinity of lunch break indulgence

The pizza? Chef’s kiss with a side of crunch. That crust had just enough crisp to say “I’m serious,” but enough flex to whisper “I’m still fun.” Not floppy. Not soggy. Just right. The breadsticks were carb-tastic, dunked in tangy marinara that made me want to high-five the sauce guy

Staff were friendly and fast—even with the lunch rush building like a pepperoni-powered stampede. They kept the line moving like pros at a pizza rodeo.

Fun vibe, great food, and the kind of place that makes you wish your meeting got canceled so you could stay for another slice. Don’t hesitate—this spot is a slice of Indy heaven.

Giorgio’s Pizza in downtown Indianapolis is an absolute gem! I stopped in while walking through the city and decided to try the pepperoni roll—and let me just say, it was outstanding. From the very first bite, I could tell this was not some pre-packaged, reheated snack. This thing was made from scratch, fresh, hot, and bursting with flavor.

The dough was perfectly baked—crispy on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside. You could tell it was homemade, with that perfect balance of texture that only comes from freshly made dough. The pepperoni inside was plentiful, layered with just the right amount of cheese, and the seasoning was spot on. Every bite had that authentic, comforting taste you only get from true homemade food.

The portion size was generous, and I honestly couldn’t believe the quality for the price. This isn’t fast food—it’s real, homemade Italian done right. You can taste the pride and care that goes into the food at Giorgio’s.

The staff was friendly, quick, and the place had that local, welcoming vibe. It’s not flashy or trying to be something it’s not—it’s just good people making really good food.

Without a doubt, I will be back again—100%. If you’re in downtown Indy and craving something fresh and satisfying, skip the chains and head straight to Giorgio’s. The pepperoni roll alone is worth the visit!

NY style thin pizza by the slice. The price is good. They have bread sticks, salad, and lasagna as well. It’s a long skinny joint. Beer and wine are available. I’m not a fan of thin crust, but I liked it. Good folks too.

This is my favorite pizza place in downtown Indy. Served by the slice with 2 breadsticks and a drink, it’s the perfect amount for lunch or quick dinner. Fair warning, it gets PACKED at lunch time and might be overwhelming for a first timer. The staff is efficient and helpful, and the prices are very fair. If the weather’s nice, you could get it to go and eat on monument circle.
All that to say, give this place a try!!

I’ve been told by several sources to try this, as it is like NYC style pizza and comparable! The breadsticks/cheese felt a bit basic/plain to me, I can’t say the double-stacked slices were great BUT the simple pepperoni slice was pretty good I’ll say. I think their best work likely is in the simple slices.

I ordered a Margherita pizza based on the description on their own website, which clearly states it comes with tomato, basil, and fresh mozzarella. Nowhere did it mention ricotta or white sauce. What I received was not a Margherita pizza by any standard—it was a white pizza with ricotta, completely different from what was advertised.

When I called to clarify, the woman who answered the phone was incredibly disrespectful and dismissive. Instead of listening or acknowledging the issue, she kept repeating, “This is how we do Margherita pizza,” as if that somehow made it okay to serve something totally different from what was promised.

The lack of professionalism and refusal to take any accountability was frustrating. If you’re going to offer a classic dish, get it right—or at the very least, don’t argue with your customers when they call you out for misleading advertising.

What sucks is k love this place and have ordered many times. I was really excited to have my wife try it for the first time and this is what came out of this experience.

Please make this right and give me a refund.

Pizza was amazing, crust was top notch, not too heavy handed on the toppings so it wasn’t greasy and let the dough shine. Everything a pizza should be IMO.

I’d never been here before, but my friend recommended it. Being from New York, he’s very picky about his pizza, and this was about as authentic as it gets for New York style pizza. I also had a spinach roll, and it was very good.

The pizza is great! All homemade right here, best in downtown. The sauce on all the items is perfect, not too sweet or tangy. Lasagna is done perfectly with plenty of meat sauce and cheese. Their bread and dough has a wonderful texture and taste so unique and nothing like the chain restaurants. Definitely worth checking out!!
