Known for deep-dish pizza, this casual chain serves other classic Italian food, plus beer & wine.

Very yummy and is a classic deep dish for the tourist looking for the famous Chicago deep dish pizza. We ordered the large fourteen inch pepperoni and it is said to feed four to six people but five of us couldn’t finish it! The serving sizes are huge and the food was delicious. It did take about fourth five minutes for the pizza to come out of the over once we ordered so just keep that in mind when going there to have a sit down meal. Everything was great.

My favorite part about visiting Chicago, deep dish pizza. The breadsticks were alright, but the wings (Calabrian chili honey) were amazing!! Perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The pizza was stuffed with more cheese than should be mathematically possible, my party of 3 was ravenous when we got there, but we still ended up with a lot of leftovers. I think a medium would’ve been fine lol Definitely recommend a visit if you’re in town visiting your UChicago family

I went to Giordano’s near South Shore in Chicago with my friend Sam and the experience was really great! We did have a long wait because Deep Dish takes time to prepare, but the pizza was worth that wait. Deep Dish is a staple no matter where you get it in Chicago, however this place has one of the best tasting deep dish pizzas I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was also incredible, tons of pictures and memorabilia on the wall, makes it feel like an old style Italian restaurant.
Definitely recommend, but expect a fairly long wait if you order pizza.

Was visiting Chicago and this place was close and convenient.
ordered online for takeout with was fine.
Pizza was just ok. There is definately better deep dish pizza around Chicago. If you have no other place I guess I would go, if there are options, I would go elsewhere.

Dining at Giordano’s in Hyde Park feels like stepping into one of Chicago’s most recognizable culinary traditions. Known for its iconic stuffed deep-dish pizza, this location delivers exactly what visitors and locals hope for when they think about classic Chicago comfort food.
The atmosphere strikes a balance between casual neighborhood pizzeria and polished dining room. The Hyde Park location has an inviting energy—families sharing large pies, students unwinding after class, and visitors experiencing their first true Chicago deep dish. The space is comfortable, lively, and unmistakably Chicago without feeling overly touristy.
Of course, the centerpiece is the pizza itself. Giordano’s signature stuffed deep dish remains a showstopper. When the pie arrives, it has that unmistakable golden crust, tall structure, and rich aroma that immediately fills the table. Cutting into it reveals layers of gooey mozzarella, flavorful toppings, and a bright, slightly sweet tomato sauce that sits proudly on top. Each bite is indulgent in the best way—hearty, rich, and deeply satisfying.
What makes the experience memorable is the balance. Despite its famous thickness, the pizza doesn’t feel heavy or sloppy. The crust holds its structure, the cheese stretches beautifully, and the sauce adds just enough acidity to keep everything from becoming overwhelming. It’s a carefully constructed dish rather than just a pile of ingredients.
Service at the Hyde Park location is attentive and efficient, especially considering that deep dish takes time to prepare. Staff members set expectations clearly and keep the table engaged while the pizza bakes, which makes the wait feel like part of the ritual rather than an inconvenience.
Giordano’s in Hyde Park ultimately delivers what great Chicago pizza places should: bold flavors, generous portions, and an atmosphere that encourages people to slow down and enjoy the experience. For anyone craving authentic Chicago stuffed pizza, it remains one of the city’s most dependable—and most delicious—destinations.

If ever there was a reason to visit Chicago, this is surely one of them! This is my second time having Giordano’s pizza and, just like the first time, it was well worth it. The interior was festooned with lots of original posters from decades ago and added to that Chicago feeling. The service was great and here let me remind you: this pizza is cooked to order, so you will not get served your pizza immediately. That’s a good thing, as what you’re after here is an authentic, freshly-made deep dish pizza. These things take time, and as I’ve mentioned, it will be worth it as soon as you take that first bite. I will definitely be back for more.

Food was mid, stale, and cold. I literally just ordered $150+ worth of lunch specials and everything in the sampler came out unappealing, cold, and stale. On top of that, the sampler was missing the wings it was supposed to include. For the price, this is unacceptable. Honestly, you’re better off going down to the Prudential Plaza location the quality there is way better.

Showed up at 1 P.M. and enjoyed a nice, quiet meal. Our server seemed a little bit miffed at us but other than that we had a great time.

Our first Chicago deep dish. Honestly went in with low expectations but it was way better than any of us expected. Idk how but you can actually pick it up and eat it by the slice even though I thought for sure it would be a fork and knife situation. We got the medium with seasoned beef, a salad, and a sampler app for 2 adults & 2 teen girls. We had plenty of food. Might not be true for everyone but was for us. They did forget the side marinara that was supposed to be included with the app & even tho the top of those pizzas look like they’d be dripping with sauce, it really isn’t overly saucy. I would definitely recommend someone giving them a try if they want to experience deep dish pizza. Picking up for take away was challenging as there’s just no parking readily available. Glad we had two people go for the pickup.

We ordered the medium pan cheese pizza, and it was the best pizza I ever had!!! However… We waited almost Two hours for our food. There was a main server there that had a slight attitude when we asked for an update on our food arrival. There was an older man that was amazing at his job, before anyone could finish their drink, he came right up and refilled our drinks within seconds! So nice :). It was Father’s Day, and there were three other families near us, but we weren’t spaced out. It’s a small restaurant and I had to sit uncomfortably close to another family on the same long bench. Women’s bathroom toilets seats are disgusting. This wasn’t because it was Father’s Day, it’s always like this but there was no parking. We had to park a few blocks away at a different restaurant that had parking, and walk. There are apartment buildings in front of the restaurant where people who live there park their cars in front.
