All in all it’s a MUST try… you won’t regret it.
The food was really good and came out quickly, especially for a 10 meal order ( #11 is only 5 months old). I had the chicken parm sub. Everything came out hot and ready. This is definitely a place to return to.
Because of that, this review stands as a 5-star for great teamwork, respect, and communication. I’ll be visiting this restaurant in the near future and will be happy to leave a food-based review then. Thank you again for the courteous response and understanding.
Drinks come in decent time, waitress is nice. Then… it’s all diarrhea downhill.
Our appetizers took 35 minutes to come out. When they do… a calamari and a roasted Brussels sprouts; they’re very cold. Then the mushroom and Italian wedding soup… these were less cold than the apps but still unacceptably cold.
It’s now 6:45 and we’re told twice they apologize for the delays and blamed it on everyone going to Longwood. Well here’s the thing… people who came in 40 mins after us were already being served dinners.
What’s concerning is the justification of the delay in food. It’s seared scallops, meatball parm sandwich, a cold turkey hoagie and short rib shredded on a bun. Well I wonder how they call it a short rib sandwich when it was a pinch of very dry meat layered with dozens of shredded carrots.
Regardless, it should not have taken over an hour. Dinner came to us at 7:05… over 90 minutes after being seated to dinner. We explained a few times that we needed to be at Longwood gardens soon… no reason why it should take about 2 hours for a simple quick dinner.
The meat was skimpy and insulting to call it a short rib sandwich. At least the waitress recognized that and had that removed off the bill.. she did offer to take it back to the kitchen, but despite the fact that we were weighed over an hour, I was not going to take chances. She took the plate away from me.
Overall… above-Slow service. No manager appeared present to do temperature checks with the patrons or to offer apologies.
To top of all off… because it can only get better right? She gives us the wrong check for the table behind us. When I go toward the back area where the hosts and servers were congregating, I could overhear her complaining and venting about serving certain tables and patrons. I know she meant well but damn… when you are the face representing the company as the server for your table, you do what you need to do to make things right or engage someone else to help assist and resolve. I don’t know where these other stellar reviews come in from, but it was not our experience whatsoever.
Will not return. At all. I was let down beyond repair.
Lastly, because I’m not a local, the fact they do not make it very clear when entering the parking lot that you have to go down and around to not the first or second entrance, but the third entrance. I can’t understand how this place is supposedly that busy enough that guests have to walk and navigate through a maze of doors just to find the main dining area. This place really could use an overall makeover with their aesthetics. It screams 80s and not in a cute way.
Overall a great experience! Thanks a bunch!!
