First time stopping in here even though I’m a local, worth the stop. The garlic cheese bread option fo the sandwich is a must, I got the Italian Trio and my wife go the Hot Roast Beef w/ Aj Jus and both were great. I think if you live nearby or are passing through and are in the mood for a sandwich, stop here.

Paid $17 for a salami and roast beef sandwich and I couldn’t eat any of the roast beef. It was so fatty and tough!!! Used to love this place but won’t go back. This was very disappointing!!!

I usually get the mortadella sandwich but the hot salami is also excellent. When you order your sandwich you have to make all the non-meat decisions yourself. The interior is a little loud and echoey so people like me with hearing issues might have some issues but there is a patio next to a road that is only medium loud so that might be a better option for people with hearing difficulties.

I’ve been to Gioias a few times. I’ve never had the hot salami sandwich but I’ve had the meatball and club sandwiches which gave been excellent. The sandwiches are a little expensive but they are worth it.

The Original Hot Salami, Italian trio and the hot roast beef. Although all are excellent, Italian Trio is my favorite. The fresh bread had a great flavor. Be prepared to wait as this place was packed on a Monday afternoon. Took 35 mins. Even longer waits on the weekends. Order ahead online if you can’t wait. Try the salami crock pot log. You’re welcome!

We’ve been to Gioia’s a LOT, and imagine our surprise when we’d learned – there’d be one 6 minutes from our front door.

My wife and I went to Gioia’s for our 30th Wedding Anniversary lunch this week. Every time we arrive, we marvel at the array of sandwiches, flavors and friendly faces that make our time there a “Joy.”

While I bring my ladies here at least twice a month, there are few memories that compliment the glory of my wife Gloria better, than a Gioia’s Meatball Sandwich on Cheese Garlic Bread.

The sandwiches aren’t only perfect (I order with light sauce), they are ALWAYS CONSISTENT. We will always make time to eat the food on location, not just because originally hot food is the BEST, and there’s plenty of room. It’s also because the atmosphere is very comfortable and at this location (Winghaven) there is plenty of space both inside and out. The outside also features a LARGED covered eating area – perfect for the pasty white easily sunburn’d folks like us!

A quick and ONLY “BAD” note about the food: Guys — you’ve GOT TO RETHINK removing the Black Pepper’d Chips from the menu. They were the PERFECT kick for that Meatball Sandwich and a dude that doesn’t eat much in the way of spicy stuff and I was disappointed that they will no longer be available.

Gloria and I wrapped up a loving lunch with a chocolate chip cookie and more staring into each other’s eyes to help propel another 30 years – or at least until the next time we make our way to Gioia’s for some more sandwiches and memory building.

Many thanks to the young lady that helped us commemorate the occasion by taking our photo. We are so appreciative that you and your coworkers and Gioia’s are here to continue to craft a piece of valuable neighborhood and community fabric.

YOU ARE APPRECIATED (and your sandwiches KICK ASS)!

I hit up the original location on the Hill back in the olden days. Since they have added locations, I’ve been to the Valley Park and Winghaven locations for carry out. I love the salami, meatball, roast beef, and the salami roast beef combos….all delicious.

Wow!!! The hot salami sandwich is fantastic! Hot salami means it’s warm, not that it is spicy, which was what I thought. They make their own salami and summer sausage, and it is fantastic. My son had the Hogfather sub and said it was really good, They also have their own special Queso with hit salami and jalapeños in it. The potato salad wasn’t my favorite but being the daughter of a southern woman, our family potato salad recipe sets a very high bar so it isn’t fair for me to critique their potato salad. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t “great”. Everything else was amazing. The sandwiches had a generous amount of meat and ingredients. We had ours toasted on the garlic bread. Perfection.

107 years of serving the best sandwichs in the entire St. Louis area. Let me put it simply, there is no deli and no team of people who bring it all together like Gioia’s! I am so happy that we finally have an outstanding deli in O’Fallon Mo.

Gioia’s Deli is truly one of the standout food destinations in the area, and every visit reminds me why it has the reputation it does. The sandwiches are incredibly fresh, made with ingredients that taste carefully selected and thoughtfully prepared. Each bite has that perfect flavor balance where nothing feels rushed or thrown together. The bread has the ideal texture, the meats and cheeses are high-quality, and the toppings always taste crisp and vibrant. You can genuinely tell the team takes pride in the food they serve.

The staff deserves just as much appreciation. They are consistently friendly, upbeat, and welcoming, even during busy rush times. They greet you like they’re glad you’re there, and they work together seamlessly behind the counter. There is an easy confidence and rhythm to how they move, which makes the whole experience feel smooth from start to finish.

Something that continues to impress me is how fast the service is without sacrificing quality. Even when the place is full, the line moves at a steady pace, and orders come out quickly. It is the kind of spot you can count on for a great lunch whether you are in a hurry or want to sit and savor.

Gioia’s Deli offers that rare combination of amazing food, genuine hospitality, and reliable efficiency. It feels authentic, cared for, and consistently excellent. I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who appreciates a great sandwich and a memorable dining experience.
