We decided to Italian for dinner for the first night in Amsterdam and Gio did not disappoint. We got there relatively early, around 5pm, and the restaurant was empty and asked if we had reservations. Luckily given it was so early they had no problem and could pick any table. We had a burrata as a starter which was great and we each had a pasta dish but my wife’s was gluten free. She said it was cooked perfectly and al dented and mine was also al dente. We each has a glass of red wine and finished off dinner with tiramisu. My wife’s was gluten free as it didn’t include the lady fingers. We were stuffed! A wonderful dinner our first night in Amsterdam and thank you to the team at Gio.

#Authenticitalian cuisine made with real skill. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and the wine bottles surrounding the room give it the charm of an old Italian wine cellar.
The food was outstanding: the beef carpaccio was excellent, the pappardelle tasted just like home, and the beef tenderloin with Barolo sauce was unforgettable .. I’m still dreaming about it.

Hands down the best Italian pasta we’ve ever had! The Ravioli with Black Truffle was a standout—the beef juice flavor is absolutely incredible. We also tried the Pistachio Pasta, and oh my goodness, it was amazing. Don’t skip the Roasted Octopus starter; it tastes divine. The service staff were the cherry on top—super attentive and friendly. A 10/10 experience!

Great wine and great atmosphere. Staff was very attentive and friendly and the food hit the spot. Nothing blew me away but would definitely come back to give some other dishes another chance. Great spot for a nice dinner with family or a romantic date night.

For the main course, I chose the beef tenderloin, followed by a tiramisu for dessert. Both dishes exceeded my expectations, with the tiramisu in particular being a highlight.

We came here on a Tuesday night without a reservation and were able to be seated right away. The food was delicious and the drinks were tasty. We were charged 5 euro extra for asking for drinks that were not on the menu (dirty martini and old fashioned). The restaurant is cozy and the staff were friendly.

Was walking by and stumbled upon this restaurant and I’ve gotta say this is definitely not a tourist trap. The two pasta we’ve had was a very high-quality and it was so tasty.
Definitely check it out of you’re not looking for a place with some pasta and romantic vibe.

The food here is absolutely outstanding, easily the best restaurant in Amsterdam. But what truly set the night apart was MARIAM’S service. She went above and beyond to make my friends and me feel at home, welcoming us warmly and guiding us with thoughtful recommendations. Her care and attention really elevated our experience.
If you visit, I can’t recommend enough that you ask for Mariam, you’ll be in the best hands. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town.

difficult to describe with words. I could feel the love that they put in every dish. In mouth you feel an perfect balance of all the flavours, and the freshness of the ingredients. And what an amazing selection of wine.. thanks to all the staff, service was good!!
