Great stuff, worth checking out! I highly recommend making reservations, and well in advance, especially for prime time dining. It’s a fairly small space so it books up quickly; I had to make mine over a week in advance.

Very strong fish list as a combination of both the regular menu and some off-menu seasonal specials. You can do at least a couple rounds of nigiri without repeating. Generally nicely put together, proportioned, and garnished sushi.

Good overall vibe and energy. Like I mentioned, a small space, but there’s both seating at the sushi counter and tables as well.

While visiting friend of ours in Cleveland, we found this amazing, underground/speakeasy style sushi spot!! Service was excellent and pictures would speak itself for the food. Highly recommend to anyone who’s in the area, looking for some good sushi.

The food tasted pretty authentic, the sashimi especially. The service was great, the servers constantly checked up on us making us feel welcomed. On the other hand, the music was very loud and overall it was really cacophonous. Though it makes sense for the bar atmosphere. The Ginko Omakase tasted excellent, though a little overpriced – expected slightly better for it. Unlike most restaurants, the items aren’t overly salty or sweet to fit the westerner palette.
Would definitely come again for the food!

Wagyu, uni, and foie gras are as good as they usually are.
I like eye of the tiger. It’s a mix of interesting flavor of acidic burdock root, savory mushroom and scallop. The blend makes scallop tastes more savory and sweet than scallop sashimi alone.
The salmon in salmon tartare tastes a bit lean. I like the tuna tartare better.
The flavor of tamagoyaki is different from what I used to have. It is fluffy and soft, and taste almost like a dessert.
Overall I would say, this is not as good as the best ones I had in China, but it is one of the best in Cleveland.
The environment could get a bit loud with the music and people talking.

Classy and delish sushi spot in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood. If you want a flavor packed and amazing dining experience try the chefs plate. I was so excited to try plates put together by the chef right in front of our table. It’s a 4 course dining experience that’s ideal for a fancy date night, special celebration or treat to share with someone you care for. Ginko is also great if you want individual rolls and not leave each plate up to chance. I have eaten there twice and have enjoyed myself! Cool vibe, cool location, high quality experience.

We ordered the Omakase for two. Everything was so delicious and the chef was so passionate. The atmosphere is super cool being in the basement. And it’s fun being able to watch the chefs prepare your food in front of you and interact with them.

This place was amazing. Arguably some of the best sushi in Cleveland. The happy hour is great also. Worth trying a few times

Kitchen staff is absolutely amazing here, Fish is all excellent, sitting at the bar is definitely recommended if you’re a just party of two. Drink selection was fantastic.

Huge gripe with getting a table – my gf made reservations for 2 over a week in advance for 6pm for a date night, we had an event to get to at 7:30 that was close by so we figured that was plenty of time to sit at the bar and grab something to eat. We arrived a little
under 10 minutes before because we know it’s crazy and didn’t want to cause issues with seating. We checked in and Waitstaff said it might be a bit because we were early and figured that was fine but reminded them we had a 6pm reservation. She said we were 15 minutes early and she had 6pm reservations she had to seat first that weren’t there yet, so I told her again we were also 6pm and she insisted we were a 6:10 reservation despite having the reservation info pulled up. So we got walked around the bar to go up the back staircase to go upstairs to Coda to sit at the bar where we passed three 2-seat areas at the bar that were prepped for the I guess more important 6pm reservations. We sat upstairs for 45 minutes before we were told our table was ready. My gf was obviously upset that we were now having to cut Ginko short because she was also looking forward to eating there and wanted to do something nice for us but ended up feeling bad because she felt like it was her fault we got delayed.

I know seating is very limited here but it felt like we were just tossed aside for some reason despite arriving at what I thought was a very reasonable time in order to get checked in for our reservation. I’m paying $150 for sushi I would have thought service would be a lot better.

We made reservations 3 months in advance when we heard that this is THEE place for sushi. It’s in a great neighborhood, we used valet parking (highly recommended) because street parking was packed. FYI – The restaurant is a lower level, so as far as I saw, not handicap friendly. When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was the close quarters. Once we got seated and got a sense of the atmosphere, it felt like an authentic Japanese restaurant that you see in movies. Our server, Alexander was amazing! Fun personality and very attentive. We never had to ask for a thing. We would recommend Ginko to any sushi lover looking for authentic atmosphere and incredible sushi and drinks! We will be back !

I came in here after an art show at Third Fridays about a month ago on a solo date with yours truly. Sometimes a girls just got to treat herself!
I sat at the bar which allowed me to see the artists at work. The seating was comfortable and the staff made me feel as if I wasn’t alone. The bathrooms cracked me up. The signs are symbols so you kind of just stand there perplexed until someone directs you. It gave me a good chuckle. This dinner choice came highly recommended by other foodies in the area, so I came ready to eat!
I started with a tequila cocktail called the Katakana. It was very good and I was a little unsure if I was actually going to like it when I ordered so it was a very pleasant surprise.
Then I had a few rolls, all of which were absolutely wonderful. The Eye of the Tiger was the last plate I ordered but absolutely my favorite of all of my choices. I took a Mochi surprise box for on my way home and I can hands down tell you it was one of the best moves I’ve made in a long time! They had passion fruit and matcha and a few other flavors, all of which were amazing. Some of them I had never had so it was really nice to try new mochi options.
It was an expensive date but well worth the quiet and good eats! I’ll 10/10 be back soon but probably with a friend because this place is worth sharing the experience with others!
