The owner is also the chef and was very friendly and patient, taking time to answer questions about the menu and vegetarian options. The menu is fairly expansive overall, with a good selection of vegetarian sushi, which isn’t always easy to find in this area.
We ordered the oshinko, futomaki, and sweet potato rolls. All three were well prepared and tasted fresh, with quality ingredients and good balance. Everything was flavorful without being heavy.
This is a solid neighborhood spot if you’re in Clarendon Hills or nearby suburbs and looking for fresh sushi with vegetarian-friendly choices. A nice option for a relaxed, casual meal.
The sushi was incredibly fresh, with each piece expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. The sashimi melted in my mouth, and the tempura was light and crispy, just as it should be.
What truly stood out, though, was the attention to detail and the friendly, knowledgeable staff. They were more than happy to explain the menu and make recommendations, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
I can’t recommend Wasabi Ginger Restaurant enough! Whether you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning soon!
The sushi rolls were amazing—both the regular and the deep-fried ones were packed with flavor and had the perfect balance of sauces and textures. I especially liked how the sauces were drizzled just right—not too much, not too little.
The yellow-wrapped sashimi appetizer was not only stunning to look at but also super refreshing. Each piece had a nice mix of tuna, white fish, and avocado, topped with just the right amount of spicy sauce and peanuts. The presentation with the flower and shredded daikon in the center was a nice touch.
We also had a stir-fry dish that came with tender beef, onions, and chewy rice cakes—it was super savory and comforting, with a great wok-charred flavor.
Overall, the food was top notch, and the atmosphere was clean and relaxing. I’d definitely come back and highly recommend it if you’re craving sushi and Asian fusion dishes!

We had four friends ordered mainly sushi and also fried oyster. Sushi was simply outstanding, and every piece was fresh, beautifully presented, and
bursting with flavor. I highly recommend trying the boat (as shown in the picture). Fried oyster also was well made and delicious! We also ordered soup, beer among a few other things. The price is very affordable. I will definitely be
returning and recommending this place to all sushi lovers!
