This place has the best atmosphere I have ever experienced. It has breathtaking views of the train tracks. I ordered just rice with touch of soy sauce. I have to say that was a life altering experience it was soooooo good. I don’t think any restaurant can compete with them. I love Ginger root!

Ginger root’s sesame chicken is the BEST in the world!! Have been to this place after a long time and the taste is still the same! It was nostalgia for me visiting this place having this entree . The veggie fried rice was too dry and not up to the mark. But overall nothing like the sesame chicken here

The food itself was good value, but y’all gotta cover up the rice with something bc it’s a bit too dry. Also the shrimp is…questionably spicy. You could see the individual pepper seeds in there. Pls remove seeds from the peppers

A line cook at Ginger root heard me asking about the menu (Tofu is usually on mondays) and went above & beyond to make me a satisfying meal! People are awesome!

I am not an uncle roger but want to make some critics.
I do understand serving with the open lid rice cookers are more visible and easier to scoop. But it does seriously makes the rice dry and leaves uncooked. Entrees are okay but fried chicken is bit a jaw breaker. Unlike the food workers were friendly.

Service is always great. But tue food needs some improvements. Rice is always dry. Menus like hunana shrimp and beef always comes with close to no shrimp or beef. I actually counted and this time they gave me two pieces of shrimp and 3 pieces if beef. Otherwise, if your a vegetarian ud like this place

I appreciate having Chinese food on campus. This place was quite good the first time I tried it a couple of years ago, but something must have changed since. Today I got a bento with 2 entrees. The tofu (in Broccoli and fried tofu) was all dried out and not really edible. The chicken with mushrooms had no flavor and the chicken was also way too dry. It would be nice if Union South could hire some people who actually know how to cook.

ginger root is ok for flavors and customer service but has some cooking issues with textures. The shrimp dishes are usually rubbery, all of the vegetables tend to be overcooked and mooshy and the rice is always dry. Even with these issues it’s still way better than QQ.

I had really good memories of their Sesame Chicken from a few months ago, but when I went there last week, it was actually pretty bad. Did not have any of the tinge of spiciness that it previously did, and the fried rice was also just okay. Overall a pretty bad experience food-wise. The server was nice though, and gave me extra chicken and less rice as per my request.

Disappointed, used to eat from here and would get a large bento with sesame chicken and rice, and I would get a very generous amount of food that tasted amazing, was one of my favorite places to eat on campus. Went there last week and I got barely any chicken or rice, the amount of food I got seemed like it was even less than what you would get from the small bento. I did not go back to complain because I was busy and needed to go for class so I had no time to wait for another order. Might give them another chance when they’re not busy.
