This place was disappointing. The menu looks great, location is perfect, and the seating is nice (indoor & outdoor). The service was amazing as well.
However – we went there for food and it wasn’t great. The lobster po’boy was $28 and when you spend that much for a sandwich, you expect it to be yummy. Unfortunately, the bread was burned so all you could taste was burnt bread and not lobster. The garlic tofu was…not garlic tofu. There was no taste of garlic at all. And the menu mentioned nothing about spice or heat. I wouldn’t expect garlic tofu to be spicy unless it’s specifically marked that way with a little fire or pepper symbol. Unfortunately, it was spicy. But not just spicy – it was wicked spicy. I like spice and would have been ok with a little spice in my garlic. But this was so spicy that I couldn’t even eat it. Later I wondered if they just gave me the wrong thing but the actual cook brought it out and said “here’s your garlic tofu,” so that’s that. If you try that dish, I suggest asking your server about the spice level. I will say, the tofu itself was cooked to perfection. Fried outside and light and fluffy on the inside. It was the perfect texture, which made me even sadder that I couldn’t eat it. This place has a big, yummy-looking menu and a cool concept but unfortunately, I won’t be eating here again. It was a big waste of money.

Came to ginger expecting less than a stellar experience (because of the reviews), I was pleasantly surprised when that was not the case! My server was Cheshire, she was extremely attentive and friendly. I love how she took the time to chat with us even when they were beyond slammed. The food was amazing and super fresh, we will be coming back next time we are in the area! Definitely check it out you won’t regret it.

Absurdly affordable lobster and the flavor… amazing. Look for a place to eat open at 10:30pm on a Monday at Salem was a challenge but fortunately we found this place. Customer service was great always paying attention to our needs. Definitely I would come back! Ty guys

Unfortunately, the food was barely edible. We were a group of four, and none of the dishes matched the high prices. One drink and one entrée had to be returned due to poor quality. The staff were friendly and clearly busy, so no complaints there. This one’s on the chef and management. Charging $5 for a small side of rice is unreasonable. The women’s bathroom also had plumbing issues with water all over the floor. Overall, would not recommend.
P. S. We went in October. Cannot say about the quality of food or restroom in other months.

Ginger Cajun , Salem’s Little Flame of Flavor and Heart

You don’t just taste the food here, you feel the care behind every bite. The owner greets you like family, the spices dance like they’ve been waiting for this moment, and the air smells like comfort with a kick.

The Friday night karaoke nights are fun.

I went with my family ,as we were visiting Salem. The best part was no wait . The food lacked taste and presentation. Sushi felt like frozen. The server was sad. My parents took a drink which they said was good.

The reviews I’m seeing didn’t mine *my* experience here. Had the twin lobster special and it was great! Good size and nicely cooked. Our waitress was Cheshire and lemmie tell you, that girl is AMAZING! She is so lively and fun. I personally would recommend eating here

Save your time and go to a food truck. The food was so flavorless. The service was TERRIBLE. But in October it’s 20% automatic tip which is fine however it makes service worse. At the end someone tried to rush us even though it wasn’t busy.

This is a great place with an amazing atmosphere. Everyone here was friendly and attentive. The food was great And everything was plated beautifully! The cocktails were terrific. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. I definitely find it hard to believe that anyone could give this establishment less than a five star review! I’d give it 10 stars if that was possible…..

Wish we had checked the reviews before spending our money here.
Our group ordered calamari, shrimp fried rice, chicken lo mein, plain wings, General Tso’s chicken, a 1 lb seafood boil (crab and shrimp in garlic butter), and chicken ramen. Unfortunately, the ramen was the biggest disappointment — honestly, instant ramen at home tastes better.

Compared to other Asian restaurants, the portions were pretty small, so just a heads-up. The rest of the food was okay, nothing special. On the bright side, the atmosphere and service were great, but unfortunately, the food alone isn’t enough to make us want to return.
