The teriyaki chicken had good potential but the teriyaki sauce was terrible. The chicken was cooked perfect with some char but still tender and plenty of sticky rice. The sauce had a weird taste that was not savory or sweet, or any combo of the two. It also has chunks of something in it. Service was good so maybe try a different dish but the teriyaki was a disappointment.

This is the cutest restaurant and all the menus are hand drawn. The atmosphere is great and the food is amazing. My boyfriend said it was the best pho he ever had. I really loved the Shanghai and had eaten a good amount of it before I took a photo for the review lol. Highly recommend giving this place a visit.

I’ve overlooked this place because there’s a superbThai restaurant just across the parking lot. but today I wanted to try something new and I am just thrilled. I got the bulgogi beef stir fry in the sweet basil and it does have a good sauce and the vegetables are fresh. It’s perfectly cooked. I see bean sprouts and carrots onions, broccoli. Every mouthful has just one of the best sauces I’ve ever had. This is an excellent choice for today. Reasonable prices. Generous portions. Fast service but there was a line. You got to check out the bathrooms. They are gorgeous and clean and fresh smelling. Mom always used to say you can tell what the kitchen’s like when you go in the bathroom. This is a superb place. The decor is very refreshing and the music is so appropriate and relaxing. I think I have a new place to stop between my family in Blaine and my home in

The Ginger Boat has consistently been my preferred Asian restaurant for the past twelve years, and I am confident that even Ryan Stiles would endorse it. It offers the most delectable Drunken Noodle north of Seattle. The family exudes hard work, humility, and an unwavering commitment to preparing fresh and delectable meals, ensuring the utmost satisfaction of their customers. I have been a loyal patron for many years and intend to continue returning.

I definitely recommend Ginger Boat! It’s one of my favorite spots to get a variety of Asian dishes, like japchae, stir fry, pho, fried rice, and many others. Food is made fresh to order, and the employees are very friendly and accommodating. I went on a Thursday night and ordered the drunken noodles with grilled chicken, which was served in a white boat bowl (how cute!) The interior is very cozy and well decorated. (See photos) Lots of vegetarian options available.

I have been going here with my family since before my grandmother passed away in November 2023. I told the owners wife recently and they embraced my family with love and immense compassion. They always make my family and I feel so welcome and at home. The food being amazing and so delicious is just a bonus! Along with the amazing atmosphere. All around good vibes and amazing owners and staff!

UPDATE: Sadly, the quality of the food decreased dramatically in the past few months, so I feel compelled to lower my rating from 5 to 3. We ordered 2 servings of vegetable yakisoba and both were lukewarm and dry, as if they had been cooked the day before and then reheated for us without adding any additional sauce. (The tofu yakisoba was hot and appeared freshly cooked, so maybe that item was cooked from scratch after we ordered, since fewer people order tofu?) The clerk/server was super friendly but not knowledgeable about which items could be prepared vegan. I had to correct her about the yakisoba because she initially said it couldn’t be vegan, but we had ordered it with the vegan sauce several times previously so we let her know that (and she confirmed with the cook that we were correct). We’ll try again in the future to see if things change again for the better, but we were sad to see that one of our favorite places had degraded so much recently.
ORIGINAL REVIEW from a year ago: Wow, what a find! It’s now among our top 5 fav restaurants in Bham. The online menu summary doesn’t give a very clear sense of their having good vegetarian options, but they do! LOTS of vegan options, tofu is available on nearly everything, and you can substitute a vegan sauce on items that aren’t normally veg (like the pancit). We ordered the pancit, yakisoba with tofu and vegetables, and the tofu lettuce wrap salad (not really a wrap but a salad with a warm sweet tofu-based sauce on top and chopped peanuts on the side). We also got a “glass ball soda” and a jasmine tea that were very good. Serving sizes were generous – we all left with a extra meal of leftovers. We were super impressed, with the food but also with the staff person who explained everything clearly and accurately.

Ginger boat was delicious and just as good as I remembered back in college. The portion size are big and you won’t go hungry after your meal. I went with the classic Terriyaki and you can’t go wrong with that. The service was quick and friendly. Can’t wait to come back again 🙂

Delicious, fresh and flavorful. We ordered the beef pho and loved the rich and complex broth. The fried rice with char sui had just the right seasoning and splash of curry. We thought if the pork was cut smaller it may have a preferable texture but miss out on the bite. The Japchae with sweet potato noodles were pleasantly tender delicious and also seasoned well. The table utensils and family style setup makes sharing multiple entrees possible and enjoyable. Well worth a visit.

This is my new go-to restaurant for a quick bite! I tried their chicken teriyaki combo with gyoza and it was absolutely delicious (and really reasonably priced!) 10/10 recommend trying them out! The people who work there are really sweet, and the place is adorable inside, I’m so glad I tried them out!
