This is the exact place you need when you’re starving and need something quick. They don’t sell slices but they offer a small 4 slice pizza which I got within 10 minutes. It was $20 which I thought was pretty steep but I guess that’s expected being that it serves its purpose of a quick and dicey pizza place near bars.
It wasn’t the best pizza in town but it was still enjoyable and good to share. I don’t think I would necessarily dine in for this but it gave me life that night after having a few drinks.

Gilroys pizza was the best pizza I have ever had in the city of Charleston South Carolina. I went with my boy and was greeted by gilroy the owner. I’m not a big meet guy but the meat pizza that they had was super sugoi. Bravo gilroys!

Oh man!!! We went to this place on Christmas night at 10:30 pm and it was open. Great guys at the counter, and don’t get me started with how go the pizza was. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Medium and it was one of the best pizzas I ever had. Crispy but soft in the inside, loaded with cheese, chicken and bacon!!!!
I will definitely go back there next time I am visiting Charleston

Very good pizza for a ‘hole in the wall’. We were looking for a bar/restaurant for some pizza, and a local recommended Gilroy’s. We probably would not have gone into this pub if it were not for the recommendation. So glad we did. Good pizza! Got it ‘to go’ and went back to the hotel to eat and get drinks there (so I cannot comment more on the drink options, etc, at Gilroys)

Small little restaurant to get some well-made and delicious pizza. They have a good selection of pizza sizes and toppings with some great prices to then as well. Each pizza is freshly made per order and is of good quality. The dining area is pretty clean, and the walls are decorated with stickers, writings, and art. It makes for a neat atmosphere, but seating is limited. They do also have a deal for Citadel Cadets (get a large pizza for the price of a small one), and that makes the pizza all the more budget-friendly. Overall a great place to pick up good pizza that’s not from a chain.

I was dining here at Gilroy’s for the first time last week with my husband. We were disappointed with the service to say the least. The food was decent, the restaurant itself was a nice place, but the employees are a different story. When we went to place our orders at the counter there was a young man with curly hair, and tattoos who was extremely rude. We were asking simple questions about the menu, and he seemed very displeased by us. Very short answers, horrible attitude, though, we stayed and waited for our order. We then saw the same guy vaping near the food, cursing with coworkers, and completely acting a fool. It ruined our experience at this establishment, and we will NOT be returning anytime soon. It sucks that sometimes the service is what can bring a restaurant down, a what a shame. My advice to Gilroy’s is to further evaluate their hires so that people want to return.

My first Gilroy’s experience was about three years ago and haven’t been able to stay away since. The pizza is always fresh, tastes amazing, and the pies are nice and big. Also, it’s by far the best service I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is unique and nostalgic…walls covered in license plates and old signs, with newly built wooden booths that are heavy, rustic, and beautiful. It feels a little like stepping into a time capsule. You can feel how much the owner cares, and that’s made me a loyal customer. Family-owned, it’s become one of my go-to spots.

I was hangry and I did wonder what hole in the wall college frat pizza place had we just walked into. It was quiet (Sun lunch), the seating and tables are a little scary looking, but the pizzas came out fresh and delicious. The dude we ordered from gave us tips on what to order. The drinks machine was cool too. Overall not bad for pizza. I imagine this place is bomb after a few late night drinks too!

Best pizza place in Charleston! After trying several trendy and upscale restaurants in the area, this was hands down the best food we had. Highly recommend!

Stopped in tonight to get a pizza with my husband. It’s a very casual pizza joint so expectations managed. What I did not expect was to immediately hear aggressively loud music promptly cranked up right after we paid and sat down, presumably to cover up the sound of the guys behind the counter COUGHING and WHEEZING as they’re taking hits while preparing our food. My husband and I listened for a minute or so because we gave them the benefit of the doubt and couldn’t believe they would actually be smoking while preparing food! We confronted them and demanded a refund as one of the guys takes ANOTHER HIT. Are you guys okay or?
