My husband and I went for lunch during the week. It wasn’t real busy, it was a rainy day. We had a very nice, efficient server. She didn’t have a nametag on, but she was great. She took our order and in no time, our food was ready, piping hot and delicious! We both got fried flounder, fries and fried okra. It was a quiet relaxing atmosphere and we will definitely return to Gilligans.

It was pretty slow when we went around 3pm.

The people were nice, but not as attentive as I would expect for a fairly empty place.

We got grouper tacos and a crab cake sandwich.
Both were good.
The coleslaw and chili sauce on the tacos were killer.

However, the hush puppies were a bit greasy and turned my stomach upside down and inside out. They tasted good, but didn’t sit long.

Parking: there’s plenty of parking but just a heads up that there is a slope and you may scrap your bumper going in or out if you drive a lower car.

We ate here at Gilligan’s on a Sunday between lunch and supper time. It was quiet and relaxing. The music was just right. Our waitress was spot on. She was polite, got our order right, and served us very quickly. She kept our glasses full and politely kept a check on us. Food was “just” normal, no spice or real flavor to it. Flounder tasted OK and the shrimp was bland. Overall, the experience was fair. My wife and I rated it on our scale as a 6.5 out of 10.

Went for dinner about 6:30 on a Tuesday night. No one was in the restaurant. Should have been our first clue…I was served an old/bad glass of wine. Server immediately knew, and said she would open a new bottle. Fish was smelly, rubbery. There were 4 of us and even the corn on the cob wasn’t good. We won’t be back, lucky none of us got food poisoning!

The food was better than I expected and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The staff are very welcoming and ready to make your experience a memorable one. A very good small town seafood restaurant that does not disappoint. Very glad we stopped in.

I normally frequent Gilligan’s weekly, but after tonight’s dinner, it will be a while before I return. The prices seem to have gone up and servings less. The fried scallops were so tough, they tasted as if they were prepared grilled and then they used the grilled scallops to then fry. The collards were so bad and unseasoned. The red rice tasted like 2weeks old leftovers. Parts of it had hard, raw-like rice in it. An employee said she are lunch and told them the rice was hard, yet hours later I still had to be subjected to it. I spoke to the manager who offered no consolation, so I told him we didn’t want anything else.

I mean we all know they are understaffed. Patience is the key.

Contradicting to others negative comments, I had a wonderful meal from this branch. Server Jojo was very attentive and nice. Food was very good. And the wait was not that bad at all.

I would rather visit this branch than the moncks corner one. The latter is usually packed and busy and loud.

If it is the quality that makes this branch lesser busier, I would definitely disagree with that based off of my experience.

And yes, we will definitely come back.

The private dining floor was sticky. We had sweep the floor and have staff clean the chairs. Some chairs had spider webs and there was a dead cockroach on the floor.

This was my 1st time trying Gilligan’s, the Calamari was really good. Our server was very nice and was on point, very professional. The only negative would be my chicken was over cooked and pretty dry but all in all a great experience for my first visit. We will definitely be coming back.

Haven’t been to Gilligan’s in years. Came for their shrimp which let me down a bit. I don’t know why it was not fresh and the breading was different than on the okra and how it used to be. Still not bad. Grits were as amazing as I remember them!
