They have really made Gilbert‘s nice. We purposely went when there wouldn’t be a big crowd ( Sunday after the band was done) to check out everything. It is lovely. We looked around and watched them closing down some of the outer areas. We sat at the main bar with the intention of having a drink and food. We finally got a drink, but then we appeared to be invisible. No one made eye contact with us. No one asked us if we needed anything. No one offered us a menu. When we finished our drinks, I hailed a bartender down and said since we appeared to be invisible, I would like our check which they gave us. We checked out and went across the water to Black Water Siren and got great service and good food. Very disappointed since the place has gotten so much updating I had hoped for better.

Stopped by via boat and had an awesome experience. The drinks were great and the food was delicious. Loved the outdoor atmosphere — super relaxed and welcoming. The little beach area is perfect for kids to play while you hang out. The staff was friendly and easily managed our group of seven.

This restaurant, located inside Gilbert Hotel and right by the water, is an absolute hidden gem. The views are stunning, especially at sunset—it’s the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery with a great meal.
What really surprised me were the prices—for such a prime location and quality of food, they are incredibly reasonable. The highlight of my meal was the fried snapper, which was cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside. Every bite was a delight.
The place has a casual and laid-back vibe, making it ideal for an easygoing meal with a view. Whether you’re staying at Gilbert Hotel or just looking for a great waterfront dining spot, this place is definitely worth a visit. Great food, amazing views, and fantastic value—what more could you ask for??

Terrible experience today. Brought my 3 year old son for lunch. 15 minutes and no one came to serve us. Had to yell to get a waitresses attention. Then she had an attitude. 45 minutes later our food got there. And not once did we get asked or offered a refill for the tiny water they gave us. Appetizer came out after the entrees. Just a terrible experience all together. And it was overpriced.
Edit: the cheese quesadilla is literally on the menu under appetizers. And $14 for a cheese quesadilla?? You stand by that price?! That takes a .25 tortilla and .25 worth of cheese. Get outta here with the fair pricing bull. And yelling “Excuse me” in an *island style* environment when we’re sitting in the heat without any water for 15+ minutes is reasonable.

We showed up on a Sunday afternoon. We had a sailboat and had to park around the cove to the southwest. It’s very shallow so we had to go out past the second mark and come back around to anchor. Despite it being VERY busy and 1A at a standstill, we were able to park our dinghy and we found a table. It is bar rules for tables.
The beach section closes at 430 PM on Sunday for food.
There was live music which was great but very loud but enjoyable. Our server was fast to help but bc they were so busy there were no menus which we were totally cool with bc they have it online. We sat at a dirty table and the server was on it quickly and got everything ready for us.
The drinks came fast and the food quickly followed. Our service was excellent. We also ordered food to go for grandpa still on the boat which she place the order at the perfect time.
Our kids played on the nice swim beach and had fun while we enjoyed the evening.
Peel shrimp was good
Oysters were good
Lobster wrap good
Cod tenders good
Cheeseburger good
Fish tacos good
Frozen beverages even Virgin were good.
We saw many dolphins and even witnessed a Ray jump out the water.
Good experience

I ordered the Gilbert Burger and it wasn’t tasty at all. In fact, it had no seasoning whatsoever and just tasted like plain meat.
We also ordered the Key Largo traditional fresh sandwich, which also had no flavor. Overall, the food was not seasoned and was barely edible.
The restaurant’s vibe was nice and they had good live music, but they were short-staffed and I wasn’t satisfied with the service.

Music is way to loud!!!! There’s no reason for this music to be that loud I can’t even talk to my wife sitting next to me. Wait staff is rude. Food is overpriced and overrated….. I just figured out why the service people are so rude, because they’re automatically getting a 18% gratuity service charge wonderful!

I love Gilbert’s Tiki Bar. We found it by exploring the area. A giant Tiki Hut right by the water with a small private sandy beach with people swimming, jet skiing, boating, and paddleboarding. Not to mention beautiful birds flying around and some landing on the beach and gibing us a show! And a pier to go walk on. Just a great setting.
Then there is their delicious food! We had the Yellowtail Snapper and a Mahi Basket. Both were very good! My daughter had a Coconut Mojito to relax by. Our server was Christian, who was friendly and attentive.
We love this relaxing, beautiful, off the highway Tiki restaurant and look forward to our next visit.
Oh yeah, and they are dog friendly as long as your dog is on a leash and behaves.
