We came during a very busy Friday morning, and when you enter the restaurant, it is important that you write your name on the sign-up sheet to ensure that you can be taken care of. We had about two families ahead of us. However, it was not a long wait.
Ashley was our waitress and she took great care of us along with the entire restaurant since she was a solo waitress to a full shop. Ashley also had great recommendations. I highly recommend their espresso and coffee. Partner with Groundworks coffee and we actually ended up purchasing a bag because it is a Gigi café special! The fried chicken is so crispy and the waffles are quite large! We were very happy for the price we paid for not only this meal that filled us up, but also for the fact that it is all gluten-free and you cannot tell!!! The food also came quite quick. The atmosphere is very cute as well, I love all of the artwork that is available for purchases. My biggest complaint would be the parking lot, it is quite small and can be very annoying trying to navigate. I cannot wait for my next visit.

Absolutely darling place in Hillsdale. Came from out of town and stumbled upon this place and its amazing environment. The staff were all so friendly, welcoming, and everyone in there had a smile (guests included). We had help from a few lovely people, but Ashley was our server and blew it out of the water. Just like Home as they say! Will be coming back! The Cajun potato medley was absolutely killer and complimented my Gingerbread Cranberry W.O.D excellently.

Just wow!! I was highly impressed with Gigis. No wait time, genuinely happy staff, and probably the best breakfast I’ve had out in a long time. I don’t live in Portland but I’ll be eating there anytime I am. It’s worth it.

Ordered the Hillsdale Hullabaloo and specified gravy on the side. Came smothered in Gravy. Waiter said made mistake do you want me to change. Said no its ok. Well After eating it I’m not sure what I got but seemed like mostly burnt potatoes some veggies tiny bit of eggs and sausage I think. Anyway should have got no gravy that way At least I could see what I got. Then $8 for a small glass of warm Orange juice. The Plate of food was Quite small. $33 Oh PS. The prices evidently include the tip. The Service was good Except for the screw up with gravy. Waffles were good. Kind of disappointed that they add the tip into the price because you are paying a tip regardless of the service you get.

I enjoyed a delicious solo brunch at the counter. Amazing veggie scramble, grits and waffle. Fun to look around at the humorous signs and artwork created from teabags.

The food tasted good but beware of grill brush bristles? I was almost done with my to go order and started choking on one..I called to let them know and they offered to get me another meal but I obviously was apprehensive haha. We are from out of the area so we can’t take her up on the making it right next time offer, I think a refund would have made it right.

Since moving to Portland, I have been fortunate enough to encounter many delicious and delightful places around town. Even when accounting for my gluten sensitivity, this place is a hub for great food. Gigi’s may well be the best I have yet tried. My friends and I came in in a lunch rush, yet the service we received was amazing in spite of the crowd. The menu is a nice balance between southern comfort food and a classic dive diner. I didn’t find much of anything that could not be made gluten free on request. I had an egg and sausage plate with a mini waffle on the side, and it was all immaculately done. Everyone else at the table was thrilled with their dishes as well. On top of all these positives, the tip tipless business model reflects beautifully on the relationship between the ownership and staff. The relaxed and comfortable atmosphere shared by our waiters and waitresses bled into our own conversations and made for a comfortable and pleasant setting for dining. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, and I can only look forward to the next time I have the opportunity to sit at one of their tables!

Cute little place, great atmosphere, with a wonderfully descriptive menu (very helpful for my friend who is vegetarian and doesn’t drink caffeine). The staff were informative and attentive and the food was ah-mazing!
