This is hands-down, THE BEST Italian restaurant in ABQ. If you crave homestyle comfort Italian food, this is where it’s at. The portions are huge and really reasonably priced. And the desserts? Heaven! I’m just glad I managed to snag a chance to eat here before ABQ discovers this little gem and it becomes so popular that reservations will become a requirement.

Service is outstanding, food was just okay. We came here on Sunday after the movies. First sign of trouble was that they were out of 3 dishes. As a restaurant owner I understand that Saturday nights can be very busy, but there was plenty of time to get supplies by Sunday afternoon, and several food distributors are just 3 minutes away. All dishes we had were seasoned very well and had bald taste. What killed the great taste was use of green tomatoes. Tomatoes in the sauce and and on the plate were obviously greenish and not ripe, far too sour. Next chef’s mistake was undercooked lasagna. Very undercooked. It was impossible to cut the pasta with the knife nor chew it. Our server replaced the lasagna with a new one. It was better, much better, but still undercooked. Big thank you for the kind and attentive service, I just hope they can solve their food problems soon!

This place is new and still has a few rough edges but the food both times I ate here was tasty and authentic. Service was also very good. My only complaint about the food is that the lasagna was not heated all the way through and was a little cold in the middle. Otherwise, it was great and pretty close to what my first-generation Italian-American father makes. I also wish they would improve the ambiance a little bit; it is too noisy and the lighting is too bright. The atmosphere is kind of cold and sterile, worthy more of fast food than fine Italian dining. Nonetheless, this place is off to a good start after being in business for just a few months and with a few improvements, it could easily be five star. Gigi is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene in Albuquerque, which unfortunately is still lacking in great, non-chain Italian restaurants.

We went here in a whim, and certainly glad we did. This small venue served some of the best Italian food I’ve ever come across, and probably the best you’ll find in Albuquerque unless you have an Italian Grandma. We also happened to try the four cheese pizza which was very flavorful, an unexpected treat for not having any toppings. You may want to think about making a reservation, or you could end up waiting

My wife and i went in for lunch, we were right away seated, the waitress and everyone was friendly. We were excited to try because we heard really good things about it. My wife makes her own pasta and sauce so we thought we would see how it was. I got the spaghetti and she got the ravioli. 14.95 a plate with no salad, and very small portions. Very small portions and limited menu. Wife said it seemed like the raviolis themselves were store bought and sauce was a little watery. She got like maybe 6 to 8 raviolis and a piece of hard garlic bread. It seems like they dote on Gordon Ramsey and the Food Network not sure of the connection however. This place was a mediocre at best, at least at Olive Garden you get more than enough and a nice refreshing salad to boot for the same price. I was suprised about the salad not coming with entree for that price. Probally wont be back. The people are nice but the food was nothing to write home about unfortunately.

Went for lunch with my husband and the food was fine dining quality with all the freshest ingredients. I cannot say it enough, this is the best fresh Italian food in Albuquerque! Chef Robert Hesse from New York has a gift for preparing and presenting gorgeous flavorful authentic Italian dishes and desserts!
I normally would eat half a plate and take the rest home but the chicken milanase and beef steak parmigiana was out of this world and I finished the whole plate then had the lemon cake with fresh cheese filling and blueberry dripping off the top. Not only was it the lightest freshest cake from scratch but it was a work of art! Hope this restaurant makes it cause it’s worth the $$

This place is terrible, please don’t eat here you will get sick. The waitstaff is amazing super sweet and on it. But it’s not worth it for the price of the food and what you get. The chef didn’t even wash his hands after coming in from outside, and the food tasted like it had been microwaved. So why am I paying so much to have microwaved food. Believe me you can make way better at home and know that everything is actually fresh.

First of all I would like to say that Im putting 1 Star to be generous or kind. We just left this place on a Friday night and we were the only ones in the place. I guess we should have had a clue that no one was in there and left. They were out of food, the brick pizza oven was broken, there were ladders and tools laying around on the tables, no music for atmosphere, and I could go on. We went with two other couples and now we have a story for the ages. We will never forget Gigi’s even after they close their doors, which will probably be next week. We only ordered appetizers. They were not good at all. The presentation was way off, the flavors were not good and and the raviolis were over cooked. The slver lining is that there were plenty of restaurants nearby so we could finish the date night on a positive note. At least Gigi’s provided us lots of laughs the rest of the night.

Don’t. Just don’t. Not even the friendly staff is worth the illness. Had lunch and found it very strange we were the ONLY people there at lunch time on a Friday afternoon. Wait staff were very kind. But that is where the positive ends. The spinach artichoke formaggio was very greasy and had exactly 1 piece of spinach in it. When our meals were brought out, both with toast, I kid you not, the toast was moldy. I muscled my way through the other food that I had paid for because I was hungry but good lord my stomach has been upset ever since. Take a look at my other google reviews. I am sappy kind even at places that aren’t amazing. If I’m giving this place 1 star, you better believe its bad.
