Went to try Giant for restaurant week and it did not disappoint! We arrived just before 6pm and so qualified for the half off bottle of wine deal which was fun.
We decided to order the restaurant week menu as well as man menu items. Standouts were the crab salad (just fresh with incredible crab flavor), eggplant with pita (just WOW, I’m not really an eggplant person but it was cooked in such a fabulous way I couldn’t get enough!), sortalini pasta (to die for…. Seriously fantastic I should’ve ordered twenty of them), and the roast pork (melty and fatty, no notes).
We also really enjoyed the vegetable dumplings, shrimp, beef cheek, and sourdough bread!
For dessert the soy sauce ice cream was so fun and interesting, and apple tart was perfectly crunchy and sweet (but not too sweet).
Great place to go with friends or a date! Only docked one star for atmosphere because the tables were packed so closely together it was really difficult to get out from the booth haha would have loved a little more room to get out comfortably.

Super tasty and unique food at Giant! My friends and I shared several plates and we loved them all. Some standouts were the saffron pasta with crab and the fries with…crab.
The atmosphere is a bit loud at the tables. The tables are very close to each other. I think the best spots would be the patio in summer or at the chefs counter (only 4 seats) so you can watch all of the action in the kitchen.

Very yummy food. Service was spot on! We ordered a few really good things but I am not super sure they went together well. Might be nice of the servers to offer suggestions when they see people ordering things that might not pair well?Or just suggestions in general. The broccoli wasn’t my favorite being cold… but might just be my tastebuds! Would be curious to have the same dish with cooked broccoli instead! 🙂 Still I will return and ask more questions myself as well. Atmosphere was nice they do a lot with the space and fit as in as many tables as possible which I understand but when it got really busy I did feel rather trapped. All in all had a great time and will be back to try all the items I couldn’t get! Thank you!!

My husband and I LOVE Giant. We had another exceptional experience there a week ago. Our server, Monica, was lovely and just the right amount of attentive. The food was GREAT. What a delicious, creative menu!

I sat at the chefs table and got to talk with the kitchen. They are all wonderful people and gave me insight into the food they were creating. The apps of shrimp on focaccia and the chicken liver on a thin waffle were amazing for appetizers. Then we had the steak and enoki mushrooms, pasta with crab and corvino with sticky rice. This might sound simple but each dish had so many flavors that I was so impressed. I will say this about the portions that they are medium sized and that is good because you can try many things and share them. The prices are average for what you get and I think it is great. This is not a pretentious restaurant with crazy dishes but just excellent fresh food prepared with a lot of flavor and love! Even the staff made us feel like we were at home. Love you all guys. A perfect experience all the way around!

I really want to love this place since the idea of a rotating test menu is super unique, the vibe is right up my alley and the service was great. But honestly the food didn’t cut it for me, the Japanese eggplant fell a little flat with it being too sweet for me, and the eggplant’s texture was quite off-putting with it being squishy, and still a little too tough at the same time. Both pasta dishes were passable, the bucatini was flavorful, spicy and umami, the best dish by far. The spaghetti alla nerano was bland, and if it wasn’t for the arancini it would be very forgettable. The onion rings had a great crust, but were just too oily for my taste. The pork taco was presented beautifully, but the pork itself was tough and chewy and lacked any discernable flavor profile. I really want to give this place another shot, the ambiance is beautiful and the service was great, it could’ve been an off night.

The hostess was probably stressed out, but she came off annoyed and stand offish when I came in. Immediate turn off. The server was wonderful & helpful! Bust peeps/food runners were nice too. The food was decent. If you are a seafood lover, you’ll enjoy the tagliatelle. The eggplant was okay, but the pitta was delicious. All cocktails were well made, so I have no complaints. Also tried their watermelon salad which was mid. I got seated inside which was nice & quiet for an after workday dinner. You are charge a % to cover employee health insurance, so crossing my fingers that goes to part-time direct staff and not their GMs! LOL Overall, decent experience. I would come back only for the cocktails and check out the patio seating (reading reviews that it is nice)…maybe give the apps another chance. If I could, I would give a 3.5 star rating for my overall experience 🙂

Fantastic! The trout roe was delicious. Crab salad amazing. Eggplant was so tasty. Everything was 5 stars and the rear patio is relaxed and warm!

Giant takes some bold swings, and while not every dish is a home run, the hits definitely outweigh the misses. The service was excellent, and the back patio made for a great dining experience – much more comfortable than the slightly cramped front.
Some standout dishes for me were the onion rings, baked clam, Sortallini, jalapeño cornbread, scallops, sweetbreads, and corvina. Between the Sortallini and the cornbread, it’s hard to say which I loved more.
I wouldn’t order the cumin lamb buns, bucatini, or either of the desserts again. They just didn’t measure up to the other dishes.
All in all, I’d still highly recommend Giant. The creativity, strong service, and standout dishes make it well worth a visit.

Giant is consistently one of the best meals at this price point in the city. I’ve never had a bad meal here and the wine selection is also stellar. Perfect for a date night or going out with friends.
Anything pasta or seafood or veggie is always a good choice here.
