GIA MIA’s focus is chef-driven, farm-to-fork food concepts such as traditional Neapolitan style wood-fired pizzas, creative small plates, fresh pasta, antipasto, and hand-made mozzarella. Fondly named after owner Brian Goewey’s youngest daughter, Gianna, GIA MIA is a family destination for dining in, taking it to go, dining al fresco on our seasonal patios, or hosting events onsite or offsite with our mobile brick oven. Our tasty menu is what delights our guests and keeps them coming back for more.

I can’t say enough good things about Gia Mia in Naperville—it’s become our go-to spot for authentic Italian comfort food without the pretension. Tucked away in the historic former library building on Washington Street, the vibe is cozy and inviting, with warm lighting, exposed brick, and that perfect buzz of happy diners. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or settling in for a romantic dinner, the atmosphere feels like a hidden gem in bustling downtown Naperville.
We started with the wild mushroom toast and prosciutto & fig bruschetta—both were absolute showstoppers. The mushrooms were earthy and perfectly caramelized, and the bruschetta had this sweet-savory balance that had us fighting over the last bite. For mains, the Bruno sausage pizza stole the show: thin, chewy Neapolitan-style crust baked in their imported brick oven, loaded with fresh toppings that transport you straight to Rome. My partner raved about the short rib gnocchi—pillowy dumplings in a rich, velvety sauce that melts in your mouth. They even nailed the vegan options with creative salads like the beet + farro, proving inclusivity without skimping on flavor.
Service was spot-on: our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and not pushy, making great recs from their craft cocktail list (that spicy margarita twist? Chef’s kiss). Portions are generous, prices are fair (lunch specials around $14 are a steal), and the half-price wine Wednesdays are calling my name for next time. Bonus: easy reservations via Resy, and the outdoor seating is prime for people-watching on a sunny day.
If you’re in Naperville craving wood-fired perfection and farm-to-table freshness, Gia Mia is non-negotiable. We’ve been three times in the last few months, and each visit gets better. Do yourself a favor—book a table tonight!
What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The Kailey and staff was attentive and thorough, with the manager personally checking in to ensure we were enjoying our meal. This level of care made our visit all the more enjoyable.
And if you visit, don’t miss out on the Carmel bread pudding dessert—it’s a must-try! It’s the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal. Highly recommend!
A special shout-out to our server, Jalena. She suggested the butterscotch bread pudding, and it was absolutely delicious!
Finally felt a fine dine in experience!
The service was excellent — our server was extremely attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely sensational, very flavorful and perfectly prepared.
We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it!
The food is outstanding. The wood-fired pizzas alone are worth the trip—perfect crust, fresh toppings, and that comforting, rustic flavor that only a real oven can deliver. And if you needed any more reason to fall in love, they offer 50% off pizzas all day on Mondays. Yes, half off. All day. It’s the kind of deal that makes you look around the room wondering if everyone else knows how lucky they are.
Their small plates and pastas are just as impressive. Everything feels intentional, fresh, and crafted with care. Whether it’s a weeknight dinner or a special outing, the flavors truly shine.
And let’s talk drinks—because Gia Mia knows how to keep the week interesting. On Wednesdays, wine by the glass is 50% off, which pairs dangerously well with their sharable dishes. A good glass of wine at half price has a way of turning a regular Wednesday into something worth celebrating.
The service is consistently friendly and attentive without ever making you feel rushed. Even on busy nights, you feel like a valued guest, not just another table.
In a town full of great dining options, Gia Mia stands out by doing everything well—quality food, a warm atmosphere, and weekly deals that make you wonder why more places don’t follow their lead.
Five stars without hesitation.
Our most favorite dish is blackened shrimp.
I’m glad they are consistent with this one dish
But slightly disappointed today with their new bruschetta recipe, it literally tasted like dessert bread and jam.
I miss the earlier version of bruschetta.
We also ordered blackened salmon with spinach
Which was kind of okay, Not the best.
Tiramisu for dessert was good.
Service and atmosphere is always cheerful and welcoming, so we love visiting this place.
Really enjoyed my meal here! The food was delicious and served fresh, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Our waitress was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Great service and great food — I’ll definitely be coming back!
