Reviews
The wait process was very poorly managed. You have to put your name on a waitlist, but because the restaurant is new, the management was chaotic. There was no staff controlling the waiting list, so you basically had to stand there, watch for an open table, and grab it yourself. I waited about 30 minutes and then noticed that people who arrived after me were already seated, so I went in and realized it was more of a first come, first served situation. Overall, the service experience and portion size were disappointing, so I will not be coming back.
I ordered xôi with gỏi gà, and both were pretty good. When you order, they ask whether you want bone in or boneless, and I chose boneless. However, I noticed there was not much meat with the boneless option, which made me feel a bit scammed for the price they are charging.
It was $32 per person before tip, and when I paid with a credit card they added a fee, bringing it to around $35. I would say it is not worth it. Even though the flavors were unique and good, tasting more like Northern Vietnamese cuisine, which is different from places like Bún Vịt Thanh Đa, I still did not really like this restaurant.
Okay, so I just hit up this place that specializes in Mien Ga, and seriously, if you’re into chicken glass noodles, you gotta check it out. They keep their menu super small and simple, but honestly, that’s their superpower. Everything they do, they do right.
First off, let’s talk about the main event: their Mien Ga. The chicken? So fresh, you can taste it. And the noodles are nice and thick with that perfect amount of chew. We got both the dry and soup Mien Ga, and both were totally on point. They come with this amazing ginger fish sauce that just elevates everything, and a little side of chicken onion salad with herbs that’s super refreshing.
Oh, and a big shoutout to the service! You know how sometimes Vietnamese spots aren’t exactly known for their customer service? Well, this place breaks the mold. Everyone was super friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in. It was a really nice change of pace.
My kid, who’s usually a picky eater, absolutely crushed the sticky rice with fried chicken. That’s how you know it’s good!
Overall very good stuff. The chicken was super flavorful. Both boiled chicken with the pho-like soup, and the fried chicken (which tasted a lot of five spice chicken).
We were seated next to a Viet family who spoke highly of the food as well.
Would recommend. Parking is a little hard in this strip mall btw.
