The hummus was creamy and fresh, and the falafel was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Everything tasted so authentic- it honestly felt like I was eating breakfast in Jordan. You can really tell the food is made with care and tradition. If you’re looking for real Arabic breakfast, I highly recommend this place.
THE SHORT & SWEET
– Summary: Breakfast should be good and cheap. We got neither here.
– Price: almost $90 for two adults and one baby. Poor value. Crazy for breakfast.
– Overall Rating: 2.2/5
THE DEEP DIVE
«The Food»
– Ordered shakshouka, falafel, hummus, eggs with potatoes, fool, halloumi cheese. The fool was just not good and we couldn’t eat more than two bites of it. The shakshouka needed more flavor to it. Falafel was lacking and tasted a little off or stale.
– Seriously lacking in flavor. Everything we ordered was very mid/basic.
«The Vibe»
– Quirky – small – open kitchen
«The Service»
– Quick because there was only one other table and lots of staff available.
– They were really nice to our baby.
If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would! From the moment we sat down, it felt like being welcomed into someone’s home. Every time a regular customer walked out, they’d smile warmly at us, clearly happy to see us enjoying the food they love — and now, I completely understand why.
The lamb chops? Absolutely incredible — perfectly seasoned, juicy, and tender in a way that makes you pause mid-bite just to savor it. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, it honestly didn’t need a single drop of sauce (but I still happily dipped). The fresh bread, creamy hummus, and smoky baba ghanoush were like a masterclass in Middle Eastern comfort — you can taste the freshness and care in every bite.
We came here for the first time with my cousins — who are VERY picky eaters — and left with full bellies, big smiles, and a new appreciation for flavors we’d never tried before. From the vibrant tabbouleh to the crispy falafel tucked into warm pita with tangy pickled veggies, everything was bursting with freshness, texture, and love.
This isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a place that feeds your soul. I could literally eat here every single day.
It was a pleasant surprise. The place is clean and the smell is appetite’s opening. the falafel was amazing with a crispy outside but moist on the inside. The foul and Mosabaha were a home run.
My only complaint, the cashier over charged my $11. I did not realize that until I got home.
Lessons learned, double check your bill before you pay. We’re definitely coming back again!
If you’re looking for the most authentic Arabic breakfast in America, in Illinois this is the place. The hummus, beans, and eggs are honestly some of the most delicious dishes I’ve ever had ,the kind of food I’d usually only find in the Middle East or back home. A friend from Chicago recommended it, and I’m so glad I went. I was shocked by how amazing the food was, and I’ve been craving it ever since. I live in Minnesota, but I’m already planning excuses to go back to Chicago just to eat here again. Truly a hidden gem!
this place never fails to be one of my favorites every single time
if you’re ever wondering where to take your guests Ghawar is definitely the spot perfect atmosphere and amazing food
big thanks to the service team and the kitchen crew for making everything so wonderful
