I do not recommend. We looked at reviews and was really excited to go there only to find out it was an absolute complete bust. Frozen biscuits gave seem like it came from a can and the sausage was so thin I was expecting to cractchet to be our guest. Needless to say complete waste of money time and gas

My friend and I dined at the Getaway Cafe for breakfast. I ordered a cheese omelet. I was imaging the thick, fluffy omelets loaded with cheddar cheese that I have had at any number of diners in the past. This one was the thinnest omelet I’ve ever seen. It had a very thin line of orange running through the middle. They had obviously used a slice of processed cheese. The omelet was brown from overcoming. And it was tasteless! Also the coffee was bitter and lukewarm. The only good thing I can say about the Getaway Cafe is that it was inexpensive! My advice: Don’t bother!

Never eaten here before, and when I saw it on DoorDash (with a breakfast frame of mind), decided to give it a try. Ordered the Getaway Breakfast sandwich on Texas toast, with sides of cheese grits, biscuit & gravy, and hash browns. Order arrived quickly, complete/correct and packaged well for delivery.

The sandwich was delicious. Texas toast was done perfectly and all the ingredients blended very well together. No one flavor dominated.

The cheese grits were delicious as well, not “watery” like some other places, and had ample cheese. The hash browns had a nice crispy coating but were not dry inside. Well seasoned too. Biscuit was not really flaky/moist…but had a bit of a dense chew that stood up to the gravy well. The gravy was a basic gravy…nice thick and peppery.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised with just how tasty everything was. Would certainly have no qualms about ordering from here again.

Very friendly staff, nice food and price. Chicken is moist and flavourful. They will be open on 12/24 this year, 12/25 will be closed.

A quaint little meat and 2-3. The owners/servers were very nice and friendly. I’ve had better fare, but also far worse. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good, but could’ve been seasoned a bit more. I had the “steak”, which was a breaded patty of some kind, with brown gravy over rice, and carrots for my sides. I selected cornbread instead of a roll, and it was actually pretty good. Not too sweet nor too dry. The free drink (20oz) was left up to me. I did try their sweet tea, for the road as I was leaving, but added some lemonade to boost the flavor a bit.
Overall, not a bad place for a quick bite, and the price was reasonable for what I got. Next time I may just go with the fish, which was my first choice, or fried chicken, which several others seemed to order.
I’m betting their breakfast is much better however, and I’ll try it next time I’m in the area before lunch.

Food was hot and fresh even though I came in after 1:00 when they close at 2:00. Also can not beat the amount of food for the price .

Fair prices for a piping hot breakfast. Croissant sandwiches are buttery, very tasty. They do not season anything, so you will have to do it yourself.

Can’t recommend. The staff was very friendly and had good service. Mac and cheese was bland, country fried steak was bland, and beans were too salty to eat. I went to this place because the reviews were decent but in my experience not accurate. Maybe breakfast is better?
