Best Italian beef!! The fried mushrooms and that sauce are so good. We ate there 4 times while visiting the area. Great staff! We can’t wait to come back. Oh, and those breadsticks!!!

Update:
I decided to give Gerrie’s a second chance — and I’m really glad I did. This visit was completely different. We were seated right away in the cozy bar area, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Our waitress was kind and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the fish and chips — the breading was perfect, and even the coleslaw was great. This experience totally changed my opinion, and I’ll definitely be back.

Original review:
We drove 45 minutes to try Gerrie’s in Clinton, Indiana for dinner, but left extremely disappointed. When we arrived, there was a party of four ahead of us waiting to be seated. After standing in line for about 10 minutes with no acknowledgment from the staff, that party got frustrated and walked out.

We decided to wait a little longer, but after an additional 5 minutes with still no greeting, explanation, or even a simple “we’ll be right with you” from any of the four waitresses walking around, we also left. Not one person communicated with us the entire time.

To make matters worse, we witnessed a seated elderly couple being asked to move upstairs because a reservation needed more space — after they had already been sitting for 15 minutes. It just felt disorganized and inconsiderate.

Unfortunately, this was not a good experience at all. A little communication would have gone a long way.

My friend and I enjoyed the meatball calzone, fried mushrooms, and breadsticks.
We were also fortunate to have Dree as our amazing server. Lots of leftovers for home!
Wonderful lunch out after a cold stuck at home January.

Four of us had lunch. We enjoyed brushetta, salads, calzone, meatball sandwich, and spaghetti(sorry we didn’t take photos of all the food). The bruschetta was delicious and the presentation added so much fun to the dining experience! Great atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating.

Famous Italian eatery, met the daughter of the grandmother, who owns it. What a gracious place to eat.
Food was phenomenal. I couldn’t even eat it all. I had to take some back to the hotel with me.

Gerrie’s is the place to go for Italian food, period. Coming from Terre Haute, it was worth the drive! The food was amazing to say the least, the staff was super kind, and the building was beautiful. I also learned that about 10 years ago the building went through a total renovation to become Gerrie’s and bring some life back to an old building. However, walking in feels like it’s been there forever and everyone I talked to in the community agrees. It’s a staple in the daily lives of many families in the area. There is also a neat little bar area, and private rooms for small gatherings. If you haven’t been here yet, you need to.
