We went her for Valentine’s Day this year. I was very excited to order the filet stuffed with Lump King Crab meat. The restaurant decor was very dated. It wasn’t too busy at first and we ordered. We each got a cocktail. When the food came, I was very disappointed to find NOT LUMP KING CRAB meat but some minced mushy stuff instead. The steak was good but not the mush! Business picked up and they must have been understaffed because no one ever came back to check on us or ask if we wanted another cocktail. We will not be returning.

First time at Gerard’s for us but recommended to us by the 3rd member dining with us. He had been there regularly some 15-20 years ago. Service was impeccable- drinks reasonable for the amount of alcohol – and food was wonderful. Seafood specials were exactly that – special. We’ll be back.

The stakes are amazing. One of the few places you can find really good gnocchi in St Louis. I love their oysters on a half shell. As good as it is I’m always surprised that rarely do I come in and I’m not able to be seated right away. There’s a lot of restaurants around that aren’t nearly as good that there would be a wait for.

Fantastic food. Lots of choices, but everything turned out really well. It’s clear the chef has experience. Wait staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in navigating the large menu. Is a bit on the pricey side, but for great food, exceptional service, it’s to be expected for an upscale restaurant.

Was in the area and based on the reviews we decided to try this place. Service was fine but the meals left a lot to be desired. Snapper was the smallest and thinnest filet – much less than 4 ounces and over seasoned because it was so small. Risotto was watery with no flavor. Escargot was.served with no bread or crostini. Mussels tasted old. Lots of potential here but it’s obvious the seafood is not flown in daily as stated on the menu. Only giving 2 stars for service and the fact that we did not complain when we should have.

This west county restaurant is a true gem. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is a true fine dining experience. The owner is not only awesome, but he walks the floor and makes sure everyone is enjoying themselves like a true host. I will be back to Gerard’s Restaurant anytime I am in West County.

Gerard’s is this lovely gem of excellent dining tucked into a strip mall in West County. Its atmosphere is subdued elegance, with a friendly wait staff, attentive service, excellent and varied menu and, best of all, consistently excellent food.
Hub and I went there tonight for a quiet, after-Christmas, just-the-two-of-us dinner and it was perfect. It’s a chilly, very wet night and the restaurant was quiet, but it was the perfect choice. It’s a very pretty place with subdued colors and some wonderful art throughout. The lighting is perfect for intimate dining without making you feel as if they are turning down the lights to hide anything. IOW, it’s spotlessly clean.
We shared a Caesar salad which is fresh made at tableside and absolutely does not disappoint.
My entree was linguini zuppa de pesce (1/2 portion) and hub had their Australian snapper. We each had a glass of their house Chardonnay which was quite nice. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the food.
The service was impeccable – timely but never rushed – and they seem to have the knack for letting guests know how pleased they are to serve us without being overbearing or phony. We topped off the meal with coffee and a B & B and both went back out into the rainy night relaxed and highly satisfied.
This is the second time we’ve been to Gerard’s in about 60 days and we will most definitely go back.

Excellent fresh seafood choices and, for the selective connoisseur, the best oysters on the half shell this reviewer has ever had. The service is exquisite, friendly, and prompt. This place is a must go. Enjoy.

I have been here several time… the service is impeccable… the wine selection is non-comparable…. the food is outstanding. Atmosphere is very quite and low key.. you can dress up or down doesn’t matter. Highly recommend.
