Mama Mia! An impressive offering of Italian bakery, sweets and coffee that is as authentic and exquisite as could be found in Boston’s Little Italy. Everything is good here and reasonably priced. Some sugar free bakery on sale as well. The coffee is excellent. Pleasant indoor seating. Physically handicapped accessible. Plenty of on grade parking in front.

⭐☆☆☆☆ – A Masterclass in How to Erode Customer Trust
I have patronized Gerardo’s Bakery faithfully for years—five to ten or 20.. orders annually, without hesitation. That history makes this experience not merely disappointing, but genuinely disheartening.
Two days ago, I ordered a double-layer cake for my daughter’s sixth birthday. The price was quoted and paid accordingly. Upon pickup, however, I was handed a single-layer cake—at the double-layer price. When I called to inquire, I was told this was an “error.” No name, no accountability—just an error. Dont want to mention names..
I returned and collected the corrected cake directly from the owner, who was apologetic and gracious. I assumed the matter was resolved.
It was not.
When the cake was finally served at my daughter’s birthday celebration, it became painfully clear that it was not the tiramisu I had ordered—the same tiramisu depicted in their own promotional images. Anyone familiar with tiramisu, let alone someone who grew up making it from scratch, knows its structure, texture, and flavor profile. This was something else entirely, bearing only a vague resemblance in name.
Errors happen. Businesses are run by humans. But a cascade of mistakes—wrong size, wrong product, wrong execution—crosses the threshold from “unfortunate” into “unacceptable.” What is most troubling is not a single misstep, but the erosion of confidence in a place I once trusted implicitly.
When a customer places an order for a child’s birthday, they are not merely purchasing sugar and flour—they are entrusting you with a memory. This bakery failed that trust on multiple fronts.
Shame is not too strong a word here. Longstanding loyalty was met with carelessness, and carelessness with indifference to outcome. I wanted to continue loving this place. After this experience, I cannot.

I would highly recommend Gerardo’s cakes and cupcakes, especially for weddings! First, the wedding cake tasting process was super easy and convenient. They packaged up a slice of all of their different cake flavor options with a brief card describing each flavor that I was able to pick up at my leisure, and then cake taste them at home with my husband when it was convenient for us. All of the cake options were delicious, so it was hard to choose! When I called them with what I wanted the cake to look like, they were able to meet every one of my asks. On the day of the wedding, Gerardo’s had created a beautiful and delicious wedding cake. We got a lost of compliments from our guests. Best of all, they offer a complimentary re-creation of the first layer of your wedding cake for you on your 1-year anniversary. This was so special (and delicious) for my husband and I. I was so pleased with the food and service I received, that I now only go to Gerardo’s for all special event cakes. Most recently, I got cupcakes to celebrate my nephew’s baptism, and they were a hit!

Would highly recommend getting a wedding cake from Gerardo’s. Jess is super easy to work with and went above and beyond to include specific flowers we brought in. They nailed the design and the cake looked incredible.

We got our wedding cake through Gerardo’s Italian Bakery and we were so happy with how it turned out! After trying so many delicious flavors, we chose their strawberry ricotta cake. It was a big hit among our guests! We got some little pastries for the reception, as well, and they were all so yummy. Highly recommend!

Had both my husband’s birthday cake and my sister’s baby shower cake made here. They do a fantastic job! Super artistic and talented! My only qualm was with the fondant. The smell and taste were a tad off. Almost like a chemical smell and weird taste, but everything else was great!

Every dessert/pastry we bought was fantastic and good portion sizes. My favorite was the cheese cake and my wife loved the carrot cake. So good

Updates: I changed my review to 5 stars because they called to apologize and I understand how miscommunication can happen. To take time out of their day to apologize shows they care about their customers. The cake was delicious and looked nice, just wasn’t including the 3 for my sons birthday, but we all knew it was his birthday. So it’s fine. It happens.
I ordered a cake for my son’s 3rd birthday. When I called I said please just make it simple, put a number 3 on it, with a basketball theme. I am not very upset just confused as to why this is not a birthday cake at all, just a basketball court. There is no 3 on the cake, I was quoted 42$ and I paid more than that. That’s not a problem, however if a client specifies something and it is a custom order, it should be paid attention to in a high detailed matter…a little disappointment. Still gave 3 starts because the cake looks nice, just not what I asked for. Next time I will just buy a cake that’s prepared & put a 3 on it myself..

Love this bakery! Gerardo made our wedding cake 17 years ago! Absolutely love all the pastries but mainly the cannolis and the strawberry ricotta cake! Love that they have gluten free options as well! Over the years I’ve ordered custom made cakes for different occasions and the experience is always great! On time and always very friendly and professional service.

For thanksgiving, we decided to purchase ricotta pies since we love the ricotta pie slices in the case- one would think the pie they sell is what they have in their case just as a whole- WRONG. So as a heads up, if you go to purchase a ricotta pie thinking it’s the same as their display slice, you will be very very disappointed and for $25.00, it was gross, market baskets is better.
