This place hasn’t changed since the early 80’s. If your looking for a traditional 70′ style supper club/ Steak house, this is the place you have to go! The food and service are great the atmosphere is from another time!

Went there for my anniversary with my wife. Both ordered the NY Strip. Was a terrible cut. Informed the waitress and she had other complaints of the same. Nothing was done about it. Recieved a free brownie though. Used to love this place

My husband and I decided to try out George’s for Valentine’s Day. My husband made a reservation for three but the hosts were surprised when we showed up with our daughter. Our waitress came quickly but was moving so fast, she asked us if we needed more time with the menu before we ever placed drink orders. Our onion strings were good. We overheard that they were not putting cheese on the french onion soup because it was Valentine’s Day and they decided to cut that option for the night. The salads were a little sad. My salad had one slice of cucumber and one tomato on it. My husband ordered hot bacon dressing and his salad came with bacon bits and a thin vinegar dressing (not the hot bacon he’s used to). My husband ordered rare prime rib and scallops with a baked potato (they told him no loaded baked potato due to Valentine’s Day). I ordered a medium rare tenderloin and scallops and paid $5 extra for the mushrooms and onions. Both of our scallops were broiled and tiny. Both of us had one raw scallop. I had one over cooked. The rest of his were over cooked. His prime rib was probably close to undercooked but he didn’t mind. My tenderloin was 100% raw and cold in the middle. It was so raw, I’m shocked it looked cooked on the outside. It took approximately 20 minutes to flag someone down (boy bussing tables) to ask for the waitress because my steak was not cooked. The hostess then came up and literally almost poked my husbands prime rib and asked how he got it cooked. I asked if she was talking about the raw steak, she motioned yes and I told her it was mine. Our waitress then showed up, told me it just needed to be thrown on the heat for a couple of minutes and proceeded to ask if she could dump the contents of my daughters appetizer plate back into the bowl of onion strings to put my steak on. I was flustered and said yes though she was already dumping it before I agreed. She then asked me to pick up my steak (cut in half) and put it on the plate. When I did this, she then said “oh your scallops are gone I will just bring you back a new hotplate” and had me out my steak back down. My steak came back two minutes later with the cut sides seared. I cut into the steak again and it was still completely raw. I am never one to complain (literally ever) but it was completely inedible. Our waitress was gone once again for 20 minutes or more. When she came back, my husband tried to grab her attention and before he could speak, she yelled as she was walking away “you need a box?” gesturing at me. My husband stopped talking because she walked away and on her way back, told him “just because I walked away doesn’t mean I wasn’t listening”. I told her my steak was still raw and I was full anyways so I just wanted to know if it could be taken off the bill. She said yes, which I appreciated. I then ordered another drink and dessert for my daughter and I. Dessert came and was not bad. Waitress came back and told us they were going to comp my meal $20 and pay for the two desserts (let it sink in that I’m still paying $33 for 5-6 tiny scallops and onions/peppers that I didn’t eat because I had no steak). I ordered a brandy old fashion sour for my last drink (first one was fine). The second one was definitely a brandy old fashion sweet despite the waitress double checking with me. My husband and I could not wait to get out of there by the end of dinner. Super sad because it’s the first time we took our daughter out on a date for Valentine’s Day (she got all dressed up in her favorite dress and everything) and I had been looking forward to this for weeks. The words utterly disappointed don’t even begin to describe the overall experience of the restaurant. I truly cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Our Saturday reservation was met on time. Waitress was phenomenal. Literally a piano built into the bar and the gentleman playing was great, not too loud either. Prime rib was perfect, the fillet was ahhhmazing. No salad bar though. $30-50 per person.

We have heard very good things about George’s so decided to try it out for our Anniversary. It was awesome, ordered the duck ahead with our reservation (we were told to do that) and it was awesome. Had to have a grasshopper after dinner cause they looked yummy.

I was here for a holiday. We had 42 people in our group and they had another 40+ group. Service was great, food was hot and timely. I would highly recommend eating here. When the owner is in the kitchen cooking you know they take it serious.

Classic Wisconsin supper club. This place is straight out of the ’70s. The decor is very dated and has never been remolded. They do have a piano bar, which is nice. The food is delicious, but the portions are on the smaller side.

George’s has always been my go to steakhouse. I am a ribeye girl and all other ribeyes used to be compared to George’s until last week. Not sure if they changed their steak provider or what. Ribeye no bone a lot of grizzle. Didn’t help that my medium rare came rare but my daughters medium filet was also rare. Have not been happy since Covid with the removal of the crudettes but this was a very disappointing experience. Time to find a new steak house after 30 years of loyalty, very sad .

I went to George’s with a group and had a great time! My group is from out of state and if we were local we would be regulars! The 14oz New York and Brandy Alexander were fantastic. The stake was one of the best I’ve ever had, the sear was perfect. We had ordered quite a few of the local starter and they were not to miss, the fried pickles were surprisingly tasty!
I hope to make my way back to Appleton just to stop at George’s Stake House!!

If you enjoy a supper club experience, George’s Supper Club is for you. Excellent drinks, with a great variety of Wisconsin beers. The menu is diverse and the steaks, yum. I had a tenderloin with scallops and they were both perfect cooked. The staff at George’s and friendly and courteous! Very nice people! I highly recommend a visit to George’s and would suggest a reservation to avoid a wait.
