The dinner rolls were spectacular. This location has many tables and plenty of parking. They multiple dining rooms all adorned with multiple TVs showing all possible sports. I had the Elite chicken fried steak on this visit. It was large and well cooked, but have to say the meat was tough and chewy. It was edible but you couldn’t cut it with a fork alone and was not nearly in the “best” category. The buttered corn was a stand out of the side options. Other sides such as mashed potatoes, fried okra, and macaroni and cheese were all quality with classic tastes. Overall I would recommend it to anyone passing through Hewitt, Texas.

Not recommend to sit outside for food or drinks in this heat wave. It was way too hot between 6:30-8:00 in the evening not my first choice, invited. This was our time at this restaurant. Service was okay. I asked our waitress to recommend something that would be good to try. She said that Lopez nachos dish. It’s not a good idea for a first-time order if you’re sitting outside. Hot air doesn’t mix well with cheese and jalapeños nachos. I asked our waitress if they served any cold veggies- salad as an appetizer. She said no A couple of people down our table had a cups with . I drank a couple of beers, and my husband had a glass of water with his nachos . This is only our experience with George Restaurant. ⭐️⭐️⭐️Highly recommend to sit inside for any drinks or food.

This is the typical diner college town type of spot, but it’s also got a sports bar side to it depending if you make a left or right at the host stand. When we got here we waited for a few minutes because there was no one at the host stand. We almost left until a server came around the corner and said they were short-staffed that morning. The entire place is decorated in Baylor news and gear which is no surprise as their brand colors for the restaurant are also yellow and green.

Google says this restaurant is open till 12, they were happy to throw me out at 10:20. The manager didn’t care. the waitress laughed at me the whole time. I tried to show him what Google displays, but he had no interest .

After a 15 hour work day, we stopped for a much needed bite to eat. I ordered the La Nina (chicken fried chicken over garlic mashed potatoes with cream gravy and cheddar) WOW! It’s was absolutely flavorful and delicious! Our server was delightful, very courteous and helpful! This i would definitely order again! Thanks!

here for lunch on Saturday and had a few issues. first we had multiple dirty dishes come out then when the wrong food was brought out by food runner she didn’t stop by the table for 10 minutes. while waiting i noticed a piece of food/mold floating in my sweet tea. when we informed the waitress she said nothing and just starting packing up our dishes then left. she brought by the check still without saying anything about it. fritzie had an attitude the entire time, would not recommend coming here.

I like Georges and decided, with my spouse, to grab a late lunch. It was a little after 2 p.m. we placed our drink order and before I could get out we wanted an appetizer, the waitstaff took off. Upon staffs return, we ordered the appetizer. We finalized our decision and waited to order. Once the entrees were ordered, we enjoyed a few minutes of the appetizers. The food came fast…too fast. He ordered a lunch pork chop, me-chicken fried steak. We were disappointed. The meats were obviously not freshly cooked. The batter/crust had become “stale”. That tasteless, it has been sitting around, barely warm, tough texture stale. I commented to my husband that this is obviously not fresh. He nodded in agreement. He commented…obviously pre-prepared for lunch and these are part of that (from true lunch rush hour). I actually didn’t order a lunch special- but, it is what I received. I was going to try the banana pudding. A dessert that is new. The waitstaff brought the ticket and was gone before I can state that I wanted to try it. My husband asked if I wanted to add, and I was, no…next time. Our drinks were kept full, the waitstaff nice, just was not well trained in the “sales” or asking before assuming area. I will go back, eventually, as I know Georges can be better than this…but, will not be ordering those items- at least not before dinner!

This was my first time visiting for breakfast and it was pretty good. I wish the server would have let me know how big the drinks are – they are massive! Food came out a bit warm rather than hot which probably led to the taste. Our server was great and accommodating with our swaps. I would go back!
