Each time I have ordered from the Hewitt location my food has been horrible. The bacon is raw on most pieces, the lettuce seems to be from the bottom of the bag. Lots of hard core pieces. Some brown spots on lettuce. I specifically talked to the young lady when ordering my concerns. She assured me all would be great this time. It was not at all. I will no longer order from this location . When ordering from the Speight location my crazy wing salad has been perfect.

I’ve wanted to try George’s Restaurant in Waco for some time and we finally had an opportunity to try their second location in West Waco. We stopped for a late lunch on Thursday. The lunch crowd was already gone, and we were seated right away. Our server, Brittany, was amazing. She was very friendly and helpful with the menu since it was our first time. She made it an enjoyable dining experience and when we go back, we will ask for Brittany!
We were given jalapeno cheese cornbread while we waited for our food. We both liked the cornbread, especially with the whipped butter that was served with it. For our meals, I got the Southwest Chicken Club, and my wife got the lunch portion of Chicken Fried Steak. My sandwich did not come with a side, but it was a great chicken sandwich. With avocado, bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and honey lime dressing, it was a well put together sandwich with great flavors. The lunch portion Chicken Fried Steak was only $8.25….WHAT???? That’s right, I don’t think we have seen a better lunch menu deal out there. You’ll spend more than that at every fast-food restaurant. Not only was it a great deal, it was also very good. My wife got the buttered sweet corn and French fries as her sides. She got the French fries to share with me, since my sandwich didn’t come with a side, and it was more than enough for both of us. The chicken fried steak was tender and the breading and cream gravy were both very good. We had absolutely no criticism for our entire meal.
And for a first time, we both ordered dessert because my wife couldn’t resist getting the peach cobbler. The peach cobbler came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and it was really good. I ordered the Big “O” Sundae. It comes with two scoops of vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, strawberries, pecans, and whipped cream. One word…Awesome!
We had a great meal at George’s #2. When we are back in the Waco area, we’ll definitely come back and hopefully bring our whole family. Bottom Line, GO eat at George’s!

Most of the food plates were under $20 a plate. The food was good. The margarita was so so. Good mix of country and rock playing. If you are staying at a hotel in the area like we were, kitchen stayed open till 10:30 and let us get a good meal instead of fast food. Not bad for a casual type place.

Paired it with garlic mashed potatoes, which were creamy, rich, and had just enough bite to let that garlic shine through. It hit the spot.
My wife went with the steak finger basket and a side of mac and cheese, and she was all smiles. The steak fingers were hearty, well-seasoned, and had that satisfying crunch you want from Southern-style comfort food. And the mac and cheese? Creamy, cheesy, and made like someone’s grandma was back there stirring the pot.
The atmosphere was just as good as the food—casual, friendly, and buzzing with that local charm that makes you feel right at home. Service was quick and on point, and the prices were more than fair for the portions we got.

Yuritzy was great at the bar top. Very attentive and really nice. My burger and sweet potato fries were perfect and no complaints there. It was a little loud with a group of men who you could definitely tell had started happy hour early, but overall great experience.

Food is ok had better but that not the reason I am posting this. The service we got last night was by far the worst ever in all my dining experiences throughout my life. Not exaggerating either. We frequent your establishment at least twice per week, either this one or the other location. The server here clearly did not want to serve us. bad attitude, messed up my order overall bad. I feel that as a business you do not want me as a customer and as someone who typically spends about $150-200 every night I will gladly take my business elsewhere. Mind you only spent about $70 last night due to how many times our server checked on us.

This was my first time visiting for breakfast and it was pretty good. I wish the server would have let me know how big the drinks are – they are massive! Food came out a bit warm rather than hot which probably led to the taste. Our server was great and accommodating with our swaps. I would go back!
