Great addition to the South Brunswick neighborhood! Had a super “grand opening” afternoon celebrating with the crew at George Street. Good beer selection with competitive happy hour drink specials. Wings are fresh and tasty. Pizza slices (plain this visit) was solid. Bartender is very friendly and attentive. A really positive dining option for the township. George Street has the potential to shoot to the top of the South Brunswick nite life and family dinning scene very soon. 7 day a week breakfast is a huge bonus for an area with almost no good options. Try it and be prepared to be impressed.

The name of this place lead us to believe it would be a much cooler vibe. The people are friendly, so I don’t want to be mean, just trying to leave an honest review. The pizza was good, but nothing special and tasted just like any other pizza place. The menu and ambiance were very vanilla and the tile floors and plain walls allowed for an echo. I would imagine it could get very loud if more people were there. The bar is decent but they should give beers in the correct glasses, (Ie, you don’t put a Victory IPA in a Sam Adam’s fluted mug). Real beer bars use branded glasses or the glass of the brewery and type of beer. I know it sounds picky, but it’s just an example of how they can approve. I would probably go there again in the distant future if they made some changes.

I frequent the bar several times a week. Aside from normal review points, the fries are perfect every time. Crisp and plentiful, I often eat them plain. The beef patties aren’t full of chewy bits, the wings are a good size, sauces are on point. The pizza is pretty good, but admittedly I would rather get wings while at the bar.

The owner makes his presence known without letting on that he’s the boss. I think that’s important. Rather than brag or just talk about making food, he watches the football game and engages customers in conversation. He remembers names and drink preferences, but also previous talks.

The live music is a big plus, as is the jukebox that is smartphone compatible. They open for breakfast, and offer delivery for lunch and dinner. The selection is excellent and I would highly recommend George Street to anyone in the South Brunswick/Cranbury/Plainsboro area, particularly because it’s also a local bar – without a Rt 1 commute or deer around every corner – but also because the staff are great people. Five stars.

Went there for lunch with friends, ordered wings which were absolutely amazing, the mozz sticks, potato skins, and jalapeno peppers were also superb. Happy hour specials are great and I highly recommend the ponderosa burger. Staff was great, very attentive and fun to talk to. Atmosphere of the bar was great and will definitely be the place to hang

They gave me marinara sauce on my vodka pizza and charged me $3 more than the advertised price for my large pie. Awful, bland, and bad service. The server wouldn’t make eye contact with me. I had a conversation with the owner while waiting to be rung up and he bragged the margherita pizza was #12 in NJ. After eating my pizza, I’m not so sure that title was deserved. I don’t know, maybe I should have ordered the margherita instead. And maybe they should stop overcharging their customers.

I recently moved to this area and was looking for a nice place to grab a drink after work. I called to ask about their happy hour specials since I couldn’t find anything about it on their website. Person who answered the phone was so unbelievably rude. He told me that happy hour is 3:00-8:00, ok great. I asked what the specials were and he told me again happy hour is 3:00-8:00 and to come in at 3:00. Again, I reiterated that I understand that it is 3:00-8:00 and that I was inquiring about what food and drink specials they had. He told me that he was busy and that if I wanted to see the specials I could come in at 3:00 AND HUNG UP ON ME. I have never experienced such insolent behavior and I will NEVER visit this restaurant.
